So um, Avengers midnight screening.

Initial spoiler-laden, expletive ridden, OMFG thoughts )

Anyway, just had to get that out.

There's been a lot of caffeine today. A lot. Even for me. I would say I should sleep but yay public holiday tomorrow so I think it will likely be reading The AV Club's Game of Thrones review and maybe an episode of Avatar. (I'm at around 2.15 and OMG I love them allll so much).

My icon is entirely too appropriate for this post.

Hawaii Five-0: 2x08 )

Also can I just say how weird it is to regularly follow a show on CBS - because um, there's been 8 new episodes in a row, and as someone who usually only regularly keeps up with a FOX show this is incredibly weird to me. No mini-hiatuses, no baseball, just ... new episodes. Weird.

I had an afogato flavoured ice-cream (Kapiti <3) at 9pm. This may have been an error.

Alex Gibney, you, sir, can make a documentary.

I saw Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr Hunter S Thompspon at the film festival last night, and it was awesome.

I now really want to see Taxi to the Dark Side. I'm almost, maybe, thinking about taking time off work to see it as they only have day showings left. :(

Stargate Atlantis: Broken Ties )

Anyway, I should go out and procure food and caffeine. Oh, withdrawal headaches they are awesome.

Dark Knight tomorrow!

Also, finally, OJamas! Heee. I just find the phrase hilarous and fun to say. Also, they're cool pajamas.

I kept meaning to post for the last couple of weeks and just never quite got there. I meant to at least post about the US elections and Rumsfeld's resignation and all sorts of things, because really if I have an obsessive fandom at the moment that's not the Rolling Stones, it's US politics (Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert included), but no, that didn't happen.

I also haven't been watching a lot of TV (as really, there is nothing on here) but I have been reading TWoP re-caps and the like for VMars, Grey's and Studio 60. Not so much BSG (trying to stay kind of spoiler free) and House (really not sure why, it may have to do with the House re-capper). I have been reading posts on the flist though. Supernatural really did eat fandom, huh?

However, the last ep of House involved Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard and John Laroquette on a road trip!? There is no bad there. I still have ridiculous love for Laroquette's one episode appearance in TWW. Ridiculous love. I may have to watch that ep today.

I usually go for a wander around town on Saturday and track down a coffee, but the weather is a little iffy and I'm already hyper due to the chocolate I had for breakfast (yes, I know, believe me, I know). Honestly Wellington, I love you really, and I don't regret my move for a second, but your climate? Can suck rather hard some days. It's November!

I ended up staying up till 4:30am last night, because this wiki ate my brain. (link via [livejournal.com profile] polonius). It's about tropes used in TV and to some degree anime and it was in turns hilarious and fascinating and I just couldn't stop clicking the links. Damn you internet.

Also due to the internet's wonder I got to see the documentary Jesus Camp last night. Yeah ... I may have yelled at the TV a lot. Just OMGWTF. They're just kids!

Finally, Casino Royale needs to be out here now. 7 December is too far away.

The Dresden Dolls were just so damn awesome.

There were too many support acts and their set was a lttle on the short side but I loved it. Loved it.

So glad I went but ... I have work at 8am. Oy. There will be much caffeine tomorrow. Even more than I had today, which was a hell of a lot.

Also, I watched my first episode of NCIS for quite some time the other night, and I forgot how much I enjoy it. The plots really are quite ridiculous but the character interaction is love. Gibbs, Tony, Abby, McGee and Ziva just rock. However the new director and the lab-tech guy? So. Annoying.

Things I 'Achieved' Today:

* Rediscovered my Josh Lyman love after watching 'Crackpots and These Women.'
* Drank a lot of Coke.
* Read more VMars fic and looked at more VMars picspams than would probably be considered healthy.

And that's it, really.

I didn't end up going to Armageddon today. I just didn't have the motivation, even though if I'd looked at the programme, I would have seen that Jewel Staite was doing a panel today. So, I kind of wish I had. However, since Summer Glau hasn't been able to make it, Jewel is doing another panel with Claudia Christian tomorrow at 11am. I'm sorely tempted (Jewel!) and it's not like I have any other plans tomorrow.

If the Studio 60 draft pilot script that's floating around the 'net is a fake, it's a damn impressive one. If it's got some truth behind it, then whee! I'm already fannish about it and I can totally see Brad Whitford and Matthew Perry in the lead roles. New Sorkin makes me happy.

TV3 still haven't scheduled S2 of BSG. Grrr. Also, no news on Prime and the new season of Dr Who. Grrr. Or TV2 and S2 of Veronica Mars, though the fact that they have the page still up on their website is probably a good sign, and it'll probably come on when The OC gives up the Friday 7:30pm timeslot. A good couple of months then. *sigh*

I'm craving chocolate chip cookies, or cookies-and-cream ice-cream. But it's really a bit of a walk to the closest place that's going to be open at midnight to sell them to me.

I'm also craving Bring it On for some reason. Mmm, Eliza. *goes off to probably fall asleep watching it*

I've been posting a lot recently.

So, it's Saturday night. My parents went out to dinner with friends. My brother went to watch the rugby with friends. I was invited out with people from work to go into town, but I decided against it as I was way too tired.

So, what I did I do with my Saturday night?

I spent about four hours making a new desktop.

New Multi-Fandom Desktop - 1024x768 - two thumbnails - two versions )

And then, I went crazy. Caffeine + Chocolate + Fandom Crack = Something Tali Loves Now But Will Regret Tomorrow As She Will Get To Sleep At 4am And She Has Work At 9:30.

Fandom Crack:

- Pretty, pretty Veronica Mars screencaps. I can't quite articulate how pretty they are and that's not just me just drooling over Kristen Bell - well, okay, not just me exclusively drooling over Kristen Bell - it's also the quality of the screencaps and the way the show is shot. It's gorgeous.

- House season premiere promo stills and cute pictures of Jennifer Morrison and Omar Epps on talk shows. No Wilson in the promo shots, but still, season premiere in three weeks!

- [livejournal.com profile] dogdaysofsummer, as per-usual this month. It's such a wonderful idea.

- The latest update of [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project sent me really over the edge though, because OMG! OMG! Just, brilliant. Oh so brilliant. It was hilarious and wonderful and so cute.

Anyway, I've calmed down now.

I have to be at work in less than 7 hours. I promised myself I was going to get some decent sleep tonight too. *sighs*

1. I'm pondering changing my username. Yes, again but this time just the username, not the entire journal. Ideally I would love to have just 'tali' but it's in use and that would be fine, but it's in a journal that was created in May 2001 and hasn't been used. So annoying.

2. I had to buy myself a new iced coffee this afternoon because I spilt it all over my bedroom floor. I'm such a bloody clutz but I went out to get another one because I was so looking forward to it. However, after relating my tale to the girl at the coffee shop who I saw twice in half an hour, she very sweetly gave me a voucher to get my next coffee free. <3

3. 100 icons is just an insane number. I really like to make my own ones but the graphics programme I have on here is a little dodgy and I get frustrated with them after a while. Still, with that number I might actually be able to represent all the tv programmes I follow. :p

4. Watched 'The Long Game' last night. It was an okay ep but damn the Dcotor and Rose are just absolutely adorable. Adorable. Those smiles and the hand holding! Add the angst and occasional snark and no wonder they swallowed fandom whole.

5. I finally manged to find the Serenity NZ release date. 6th October! I'm praying for a midnight session but I really doubt we'll get one. Still, must see! I don't think I've ever been this excited for a movie release and that includes the LotR and HP movies.

6. Veronica Mars 106: Return of the Kane )

Wow. I haven't posted in over a week. To be honest, it hasn't been anything truly exciting that has kept me away from posting. Mostly much watching of House and obsessing about that and walking around my house thinking about it (oh, you think I'm joking).

House episode ramblings: Includes spoilers for the whole seaosn )

I also saw two movies over the last weekend which were both extremely enjoyable but for very different reasons. Which makes sense when you consider that one (Downfall) was a German movie about the last days in Hitler's bunker and the other was basically an excuse to watch two pretty people shoot things, and each other, with only a very vague semblence of a plot (Mr and Mrs. Smith).

Also, my caffeine addiction has seemed to have transceneded Coke and moved on to coffee. Not that I don't still like Coke and not that I didn't like coffee before, but now mmm, mochaccinos. Caffeine and chocolate, what's not to love?

Work is going to blow tomorrow. It's the first day of a huge conference and no one is going to know what the fuck is going on. Joy. *plans good tv marathon for when she gets home*
