I have some issues with Maureen Dowd but I do like her column today:

Jed Bartlet gives advice to Barack Obama, as written by Aaron Sorkin.

BARTLET Senator.

OBAMA Mr. President.

BARTLET You seem startled.

OBAMA I didn’t expect you to answer the door yourself.

BARTLET I didn’t expect you to be getting beat by John McCain and a Lancôme rep who thinks “The Flintstones” was based on a true story, so let’s call it even.

(If anyone is anti NY Times registration and wants it sent to them just let me know, it's worth the read).

Also, while I'm all political, [livejournal.com profile] penknife has a great post here about McCain and Obama's LGBT policies and how they will affect her family.

Edit: And then I watched 4 episodes of TWW. God, I <3 all of them. I always go to S4 for some reason. Also, Toby/CJ for the win.

I came home in a rather eh mood but all the posts about the Studio60 pilot airing tonight and the general Sorkin love I've seen has cheered me up a bit. Oh, Danny. Oh, Toby. Oh, shows.

I've been looking at all the music memes that are going around and half-heartedly poking at them and then basically sighing at my inability to make decisions. So, in the end, I've decided to post a rather random collection of songs I've been enjoying recently, because I feel like sharing.

Mmm, Music )

So ... I meant to get to bed early tonight (ie: before 11). I am so going to pay for this at work tomorow but I don't care, because the internet is very kind to me.

* Downloadable AVI of the Studio 60 6 minute promo from [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo. So much love. Brad Whitford. Just, love you. Those quiet 'yeah's just get me for some reason. Matt Perry was pretty awesome too.

* [livejournal.com profile] audiography is having a covers week. I am so dead. I am a sucker for a good cover song.

Also I watched 'The Wrath of Con' tonight. I adore, adore those flashbacks.

As for Arsenal. *sighs* I can't say I was that surprised but ... 2 Barca goals in the last 14 minutes and a goalkeeper sent off. You couldn't have made it a little harder on yourselves? Also, I think Thierry is so gone. *sighs again*

I'm pretty tempted to go downstairs and watch the snowball scene from 'Inaugaration II.' I've been really craving it for some reason. I seem to be having a Josh Renaissance. Or a Brad Whitford one. Or a Sorkin one. Or something.

Things I 'Achieved' Today:

* Rediscovered my Josh Lyman love after watching 'Crackpots and These Women.'
* Drank a lot of Coke.
* Read more VMars fic and looked at more VMars picspams than would probably be considered healthy.

And that's it, really.

I didn't end up going to Armageddon today. I just didn't have the motivation, even though if I'd looked at the programme, I would have seen that Jewel Staite was doing a panel today. So, I kind of wish I had. However, since Summer Glau hasn't been able to make it, Jewel is doing another panel with Claudia Christian tomorrow at 11am. I'm sorely tempted (Jewel!) and it's not like I have any other plans tomorrow.

If the Studio 60 draft pilot script that's floating around the 'net is a fake, it's a damn impressive one. If it's got some truth behind it, then whee! I'm already fannish about it and I can totally see Brad Whitford and Matthew Perry in the lead roles. New Sorkin makes me happy.

TV3 still haven't scheduled S2 of BSG. Grrr. Also, no news on Prime and the new season of Dr Who. Grrr. Or TV2 and S2 of Veronica Mars, though the fact that they have the page still up on their website is probably a good sign, and it'll probably come on when The OC gives up the Friday 7:30pm timeslot. A good couple of months then. *sigh*

I'm craving chocolate chip cookies, or cookies-and-cream ice-cream. But it's really a bit of a walk to the closest place that's going to be open at midnight to sell them to me.

I'm also craving Bring it On for some reason. Mmm, Eliza. *goes off to probably fall asleep watching it*

Must be quick as I really should not still be up right now.

I spent the weekend at my friends’ wedding in Golden Bay and had an awesome time. The weather was gorgeous, where we were staying was right on a beautiful beach, I met some great people who I wish I’d got to know better and it was just a great weekend. I drank a little more than I had intended being almost surrounded by people I didn’t know too well, but that was pretty fun too.

Randomly, the night sky is just so, so beautiful when you’re away from any major cities.

The real goodbyes have started now though. The wedding was the first one, now it’s all packing and goodbyes. Ah well. I know I’m making the right decision but hey, nobody said it was going to be easy.

Warning: Chances are there are going to be a lot of these "OMG, Moving!' posts this week. I haven't moved in 17 years. It's going to start freaking me out. Bear with me.

Watched the Superbowl today with Dad at a sports bar. I had a great time. I was cheering for the Seahawks, but in the end the Steelers probably deserved to win, though the score should have been closer. Seattle were pretty unlucky with some of the calls they got and except for the last quarter, they had played a damn good game.

New TV! * twirls *

Grey’s Anatomy, I didn’t realise how much I missed you.

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head )

Tomorrow: House!

Matthew Perry is signed up for the latest Sorkin/Schlamme enterprise.

I know there were reports he had turned it down, but this article, and others I've seen, seem pretty sure he has signed up. Excellent! I really loved him in his guest-starring roles in TWW. It looks like an interesting show. New!Sorkin, mmm.
