It's cooold. It snowed today! Not serious snow, but a light dusting, and there's supposed to be more tomorrow and Friday. Mostly this makes me \o/ because I haven't seen snow in ages, but also a little worried as I have shit to do and I hope it doesn't screw with public transport too much (this is London after all, it doesn't take a lot). Also, I am lacking some appropriate footwear, and did I mention? Cooold. So happy to have central heating.

Doctor Who Special of Never Mind the Buzzcocks's was okay, but not amazing. I hope Catherine Tate was putting some of that ditziness on, but Bernard Cribbins was awesome.

However there was a random Muse related WTF?! moment during the show )

And I did learn that BBC Two are airing David Tennant's RSC Hamlet performance on BBC Two on Boxing Day! Favourite Shakespeare play and one of my favourite actors! Excited! They do Christmas TV well here, I will say that. And John Simm is playing Hamlet as well! Admittedly in Sheffield, but they might bring it down here, or I could go up, I guess.

I also realise I meant to talk about the last Merlin ep, and didn't. Overall, I thought it rocked, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they take it. Also, Emilia Fox was all sort of awesome. Again.

I also seem to have developed a small Gossip Girl thing, and I seem to slightly shipping Nate/Serena. Yes, I know, I know. Serena is almost too stupid to live, but Nate! Also, Chuck and Blair are awesome. Eh, it's entertaining if not the most intellectually stimulating television.

Had one too many beers last night, so spent most of the day watching TV in one form or another. Caught up on QI (Sandy Toksvig and John Hodgman for the win), Have I Got News For You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, then went out to see the All Blacks play the Barbarians at a friend's house. Now, I'm snuggled up on the couch, watched Merlin (please just let Arthur find out already) and just finished catching up on White Collar.

White Collar: Free Fall )

Also, there may have been some Strictly Come Dancing in there as well. I blame my friend who got me into it. It is genuinely quite entertaining, even if you have the grit your teeth through the Bruce Forsythe bits.

And this Radio 4 interview of David Tennant being interviewed by Catherine Tate is hilariously awesome. Oh David, such a geek. <3 (May be a UK only link, not sure, usually the radio programmes are okay).

Enemy at the Gate is reminding me why I had a crush on Joseph Fiennes for so long. Mmm, much more attractive with his real accent and glasses, and he can act. After watching too much FlashForward I needed reminding.

Must actually do things tomorrow. Possibly Christmas shopping that I am avoiding.

Also, have new temp job at least till Christmas. Yayness.

Edit: Totally forgot The Thick Of It was on tonight, but just watched now (love you iPlayer): !!!!!!! )

That was way more than I planned on typing. Somedays, TV is awesome.

Merlin: Sins of the Father )

Have tried to watch the latest White Collar many times before I go to sleep, but keep falling asleep in the middle. I will persevere.

Also Jenson joined McLaren today. *sigh* Everyone saw it coming, but I really thought he'd hang around Brawn, which is admittedly now Mercedes, and that does make me feel a bit better about it. But, I do fail to see how joining a team with Lewis is going to help him that much. Yes, perhaps a better car, but a car that's been set up for Lewis's driving style, and in a team which is very much Lewis's team. I hope it works out, Jenson, I really do, but I remain unconvinced.

Feeling positive about a McLaren driver is going to feel weird. I haven't done that since David Coulthard drove for them.

And uh, I may have a GA ticket to see Muse at Wembley next year. I shouldn't have really, but I did, and I feel pretty unrepentant. If I'm still here (and I definitely plan to be) and I missed out then I'd be kicking myself. Life's too short and the last concert at Wembley they did was too awesome.

First day of temp job today. It went pretty well (I have a new database to bond with) and the people are nice. But wow, rush hour tube rides are so much fun. *rolls eyes* I have further reasons to be disgruntled about Clapham having three freaking tube stations.

Vid rec: Crazy in Love by [livejournal.com profile] sisabet and Cappy. Merlin/Arthur. Awesome song choice and so much fun.

I saw this A.V Club article on the Best mini-series and made-for-TV movies of the 00's on their Twitter feed and thought to myself 'Gen Kill has to be on this' and not only was it first on the list, but there was ASkars as well! <3

Random brief TV thoughts:

Merlin: The Witchfinder )

White Collar: Book of Hours )

Random Ugly Betty thought - only spoilery till late S4 )

Muse concert on Friday! And new Top Gear and Doctor Who episodes this weekend!

I need to re-do my icons. Oh, yes.

White Collar 1x02: Threads )

Merlin: Beauty and the Beast Part 2 )

Yes, I do seem to be watching Merlin regularly. It's on iPlayer, it's too easy! And actually pretty enjoyable. Ridiculous, but enjoyable.

Monopoly Crawl was true to my prediction, eventful. Perhaps a little too eventful, sadly. I had a good time for the most part, but at the end at pub 21 (yes, really, and there were still 5 to go) I headed home with my flatmates as we were all a little over it and my feet were killing me.

Yesterday, there was the Abu Dahbi Grand Prix and junk food, and not a lot else. It was awesome. Awesome last few laps too. Aw, Jenson. <3 I was happy for Sebastian Vettel though, I like him, he's cute. Also, Jenson continued his habit of being damn touch-y and adorable. In the interview with the BBC guys at the end he had his arm around DC in parts, fist bumped/shook each of their hands and kissed Eddie Jordan on the cheek. And this after kissing Jake Humphrey on the neck after Brazil. I don't tend to slash in F1, but damn, Jenson, you're not helping!

I keep thinking of an F1 AU while I'm as into it as I am. Maybe for Gen Kill, but I just don't know if it would work.

First Apple Genius appointment today due to my trackpad button being evil. A little excited actually. I wonder if they can do something about the missing J key (long stupid story), it's all still under AppleCare for another year.

Also, it is sunny outside! London, dude, I continue to be impressed. I am told this is very unseasonal, but still, I approve. However, it is getting dark at 5pm now.

This is all a little day in the life, but I feel like rambling. ;)

Day started off a little '!!!' with a job interview/seminar/thing. I think it went okay, but I'm not feeling that confident. It would be a cool place to work though. I spent a lot of the day freaking out about it as joblessness is getting a little more worrying, but found out when I came home that I have an interview with a different company on Friday. So, feeling a little bit less freaked out.

Following the interview I had a pleasant afternoon wandering around Soho (does everyone get incredibly lost around there, or is that just me?), grabbing a beer at a pub with a view down Whitehall and then wandering over the Golden Jubilee bridge to Waterloo, which has an awesome view of the Eye and the Houses of Parliament. I <3 the Houses so, so much. Every time I walk by them I have to stop and just look. My friend and I went on a tour a few weeks ago, and it was amazing. (I do love London quite a lot, and would be a little heartbroken if I had to leave now).

From Waterloo I went to see Kevin Smith's Q&A at the O2 (or rather a smaller theater in the O2 complex, but, dude, that is quite the venue). Kevin was amusing as hell. Yeah, crude and almost a little too honest, but he also is a really interesting, smart guy, and had some great words about George Carlin and all sorts of other topics. The questions overall were not too cringe-worthy actually, I was impressed. We even got a marriage proposal. Craziness. Sadly, I had to leave a little early for tube reasons, although I'm not 100% sure the TFL website was telling me the whole truth on that one.

Amusingly, the other event at the O2 at the moment are the world gymnastics championships, and that is an interesting mixture of crowds. ;)

Also, I slipped and watched some more Merlin and read some fic (awesome AUs FTW). Yeah. I need a job soon, this is getting slightly ridiculous. But, they are adorable! Arthur, well you're also a bit of a bitch, but an adorable one!

So, I may have ended up catching an episode of Merlin, and uh, it was quite entertaining. I could watch some more.

Some not so deep and meaningful thoughts: Merlin: The Nightmare Begins ... )

Other things that have made me happy today:

- Top Gear repeats
- Really good salmon pizza and beer
- This Brad/Nate fic
- I have a interview-type thing on Tuesday. It's something, at least.

Mood chosen mostly for the synchronized head tilts. Aw, boys.

I changed my LJ theme and the way this new theme displays tags means that they look totally out of control. Which they are really. Must fix them. My previous theme only displayed the 20 most common tags. I wish you could export that to other themes.

The BBC's new adaption of Emma is quite cool, the Emma/Mr Knightley interaction especially. It makes me realise how much the Gwyneth Paltrow version lacked in that department.
