So, I did end up taking the day off. Spent it mostly in bed, watching MASH or surfing the 'net (which included crying caused by MASH wikipedia articles. No, really). To be honest, I probably could have gone to work, I didn't feel completely horrible, but the day off has probably helped.

I also, you'll be thrilled to know, think I may have settled on Google Reader as my RSS feed reader. I've been looking around, and I do like that Google Reader is web-based so I can access it at home and ... other places, and I do read so many blogs, and forget ones that I mean to go back to, that I think a feed reader is probably a good idea. (Note: I have said this before).

Anyway, due to feed adding I ended up all over the net reading, including some fannish stuff:

Dr Who in time freeze for a year. Thankfully, they're talking about after S4 not S3, but that is interesting. Tennant and Davies can't go on forever, and who knows maybe it will just let them re-charge or something. And three specials is still something.

Also, David Tennant is going to play Hamlet for the RSC. Dude! That would rock! I think the chances of coercing them over this side of the world two years in a row is ... unlikely. Damn.

The ad that goes with that article is rather amusing. Cheap shot, but amusing. I also like how they've left question marks for the end of his tenure.

Hugh Laurie almost chosen to host the Emmys

That? Also would have rocked! Damn you, Fox. Though saying that, I am inclined to agree with one of the commenters that Hugh probably would have turned it down. Awesome as it would be, I can't really see him saying yes.

And no, I have no idea why I am obsessing about the Emmys host. I do understand why Fox chose Ryan Seacrest, annoying as I find him, and to be honest, I'm not even sure I'll watch this year (note: I have also said this before). Also, chances are NZ TV won't have it on anyway.

I actually left work sick today. Okay, I left work like an hour before I was supposed to, but it still counts! Kinda. I just feel so incredibly blocked up. Sinus headache and just, ugh.

So I came home and watched an entire disc of MASH episodes. *loves*

I'm in two minds about whether to go to work tomorrow if I still feel like this, because I actually got quite a bit done today, and I do have cold and flu drugs (much use they seem to be to me) but realistically, going to work will probably just make it worse, but then I will feel guilty if I don't go to work, because there is stuff I have to do!

Oh, life she is hard. Also, that paragraph made me sound quite dedicated to my job, which is entertaining.

I actually thought that test was rather eh, but those percentages are actually probably about right. Maybe not the bottom one though. Or that title.

Also, I went to see Die Hard 4.0 last night, and did you know that Bruce Willis can overcome the laws of physics with the power of his mind? He can. Really. *solemn nod* (Translation: The stunts were insane, but it was entertaining, especially the banter, which as my friends and I discussed, is what actually makes a Die Hard movie. A PG-13 rating does not).

I saw The Simpsons Movie today, and I loved it. It was just a hell of a lot of fun, and had a fair amount of political and slightly more adult jokes. I walked out with a grin on my face and humming 'Spider pig, spider pig' and wondering if someone had an MP3 of it around, because it really is quite inspired.

I never really understood the huge deal about the Simpsons. I mean, I liked it whenever I managed to catch it on TV (and it always seemed whenever I did watch it, that it was always an episode I'd seen), but I never really got into it like some of my friends did. Certain inhabitants of my previous flat turned me around on that one, and I'm really happy they did.

I've also been watching lots of M*A*S*H recently. They had box sets for $30 at the CD Store. $30! I am not made of stone! I picked up Season Five (they only had the later seasons on special, and to be honest, I really prefer Potter to Henry, and BJ to Trapper, though only by a little), and oh, this show is awesome. I mean there's the nostalgia aspect (it used to be on just before the news when I was a kid) but it's also just a very good TV show. I love Hawkeye, BJ, Potter and Radar so much. Also, Sidney is awesome. *nods*

Chances of me buying another one are high I think.

However, I really shouldn't spend the money, because I went out to buy a pair of sneakers today, and uh, ended up buying two pairs of shoes. Um, oops?

And because this seems to be an entry about what I've been watching recently (and okay, yes, that's what it's like a lot of the time around here), I finally saw The Queen yesterday. I liked it a lot, and while I've seen lots of praise for Helen Mirren, and she was awesome, I was also really impressed by Michael Sheen's performance as Tony Blair. His intonation especially was really well done.

In 24 hours I'll be seeing Ian McKellen in King Lear. Just, you know, putting that out there. *bounces*

However, work tomorrow. Wonderful.

I use this mood icon because well, oh just look at it. I think I'm going to have to put in Doomsday now. Oh, Doctor. <3 Also, it's kinda apt for this episode. Oh, Hawkeye.
