I was sitting on my porch with sunshine and beer and the internet before. Oh wireless, never leave me.

Semi-successfully Christmas shopped. Got my brother's present anyway ... and a few things for me. I have got to stop going into shops where know for a fact I will not find presents for my family, but which I love. Ah well.

No more Daily Show this year. :( The episode they went out on was pretty awesome though. Farewell to Alan Colmes!

Embedded under the cut )

Heh. I am officially seven episodes behind on Heroes. Must procrastinate using that watch those at some point. I hear it's gotten better.

I did however watch the most recent CSI. *ducks* I just want to see how Grissom goes, I swear.

At the moment I'm working my way through S4 BSG and, I'm enjoying it, but not loving it.
Liking Helo a bit more though, which is odd in and of its self.

ETA: I take that last comment back. Just finished. *FLAIL* Show! Those last four eps were awesome.

I left to go get a coffee and spend some time in the sunshine at 1pm today ... and I got home at 11pm quite drunk, after running into one friend and drinking beers in the sun, and then being invited by another friend to drink at a local bar for a while. Had an awesome time though, and there was foosball, good company and good food and beer. Mmmmm.

Currently watching Fry in America, which is love, and thinking about how I really need to work on my Yuletide story.

The Daily Show last night was awesome, and Ron Howard surprisingly bearable.

Also, still very interested in CSI. Weird. Damn you William Petersen.

Had a very lazy and enjoyable weekend. Lost a chunk of it to Outrageous Fortune S4. I had grand plans to go the vege market on Sunday and they just didn't happen as I had to finish the DVDs. *flail* Show.

Also, what is it with old fandom renaissances? Later the same day I was checking my flist, read this post by [livejournal.com profile] eolivet and then I spent an hour catching up on J/S clips on YouTube, which was cool (thanks [livejournal.com profile] eolivet), but then this lead me to think about my other main fandom of that period, and then I lost many an hour catching up on all sorts of Grissom/Sara happenings, and looking forward to the next few eps. Weird. I'm not complaining, I just find it interesting how it happens. :)

Two random points:

1. Chocolate covered coffee beans are awesome, but should not be eaten like M&Ms.
2. There should be a small circle of hell for those who beep their horn unnecessarily in the Mt Vic tunnel.

Also, got lots of small things done today, including a call to the landlord to cover all manner of topics. Yay. I feel accomplished.

And a meme, from [livejournal.com profile] tangleofthorns, among others.

1. Put your music player on shuffle
2. The first lines of twenty songs = a poem; the first line of the twenty-first song is the title

I definitely rearranged a few lines, but I didn't skip any non-instrumental songs. Nice cheery title. ;) Thanks, Radiohead. :p

A heart that's full up like a landfill

I said the joker is a wanted man
The boy with the thorn in his side
If it's a true that a rich man leads a sad life
You can't get to heaven in a silver spoon

That's how it starts
sweet seduction in a magazine
Come with me
Lay down
Love rain down on me

So be it I'm your crowbar
Everybody dance now

Fling you out into orbit
I leapt across three or four beds into your arms
My, my, my, my
Passing by you light up my darkest skies

As someone sets light to the first fire of autumn
Bells ring into the night
Tonight I'm tangled in my blanket of clouds
Looking for my place on assembly lines

I don't want to get over you

Ever since I got my Mac (uh, that would be 8 months ago) I've been meaning to get back into vidding, and I've finally finished one of my ideas. \o/

So, um, watch it if you like.

I also put up the one of my earlier vids I'm actually kinda proud of from when I was into CSI and WaT all those fandoms ago. Sam and Sara (Jack/Sam and Grissom/Sara implied) to the "The Tower" by Vienna Teng.

So, I just finished watching S1 of Sports Night. Technically, I'd seen a lot of it before, but this is the first time I'd watched it in its entirety.

Sports Night: Now With Ridiculous Amounts of Squee )

And because I caved in and watched it last night.

CSI 522: Grave Danger )

I'm so easy.

I had my first driving lesson today and it actually went pretty well. The guys who took me (two friends) were so patient and wonderful and I actually didn't go too badly. Changing gears isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be but then I wasn't exactly driving where there were many other cars on the road, so we'll see. It was quite fun though.

Because I'm a sheep and it's a lovely idea. I'm trying to comment on everyone on my flist that does it.

Snaps Cup! Meme: I posted here.

Six (Current) Favourite Songs Meme:

1. The Whitlams - Buy Now Pay Later (Charlie No. 2)
So House/Wilson it's not funny.

2. Rufus Wainwright - Rebel Prince
Oh so pretty.

3. Rilo Kiley - A Better Son-Daughter
From the soft start to the more rocky end, this song is wonderful.

4. The Decemberists - The Legionnaire's Lament
*bops* I can't help it, this song is infectious.

5. The Beatles - In My Life
So much love.

6. The Cure - The Lovecats
It's a little cracktastic and highly addictive.

7. (oh, shush) Melissa Etheridge - Secret Agent
I adore her voice. Guh.

I know there is a tagging part to this meme, but really whoever wants to do it should do it. The uploading isn't required (and if you're on dial-uip like me, it's not pretty) but once I started listing them I felt I had to share them too.

--

Also, while I'm sharing, here are a few songs I'd already uploaded to my webspace and meant to share but never quite got around to making the LJ post for:

Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful
I don't know quite what to write for this one but this is a gorgeous sad song about pining. Mellow, kind-of Indie.

Poe - 5 and 1/2 Minute Hallway
Pretty, pretty song and the little audio clip at the end just makes it that much better. Such a great atmospheric feel.

Rachael Yamagata - Collide
There's a J/S vid in here somewhere, there really is. The piano just kills me.

The Decemberists - Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect
Their lyrics and their style are just wonderful. I have to own their album(s).

Sarah Harmer - Dandelions and Bulletholes
She just has a gorgeous voice.

Ryan Adams - Wonderwall (Oasis Cover) (Live)
I've heard the album version of this and it kind of disappointed me but this live version is wonderful. His voice is fantastic and there are all sorts of amusing asides as he sings.

Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (Performed by Dame Moura Lympany)
I've always been more of strings girl but this piano piece is easily one of my favourites when it comes to classical music. So sad. So pretty.

I doubt I would have found any of these wonderful artists without other people on my flist's music posts (some of the shared songs might look familiar to some people as songs they've shared) and other LJ music communities. I am very grateful. <3

Nesting Dolls played here tonight. I was sucked in. *headdesk* It wasn't that bad and now I'm wondering if I should start watching CSI again on a regular basis. Damn curiosity. *mumbles* My G/S shipper was (and still sort-of is) on life-support but has not died.

--

I finally got around to updating my recs page. It now has over 30 fandoms (38, I just counted) on it and my 'Pending Recs' Bookmark folder is still ridiculously long. Ridiculously. That's not me using an hyperbole either, there is over 100 fics in that folder. (OMG 191!) *facepalm* I read far too much fic, or like too much of what I read. Something like that anyway. I've pondered getting another LJ and putting some of them in there, but really, it would be just another thing for me to angst over and moan to myself that no-one is reading. This suits me better and really, the list is mostly for me. Sure, if someone reads some good fic because of it, then that's great and I certainly write it so it's accessible to other people, but it's more just a list of fics I've loved in a handy place so I can come back to them and so I can feel a little happy about sharing them, even when I don't make the effort of really pointing people over there.

--

Finally, I love the Internet because it brings me pretty House episodes that haven't aired in this country. Three Stories was just, yeah. *sniffs* *loves them all, yes, even Cameron, as long as she keeps her romantic intentions as far away from House as humanly possible*
