I saw Muse at Wembley last night and they, shockingly, were awesome. I think they can't get better, but this was, again, the best concert of theirs I've been to. Wembley is an amazing venue and the crowd, on the whole, were good. They bounced, the sung, only a few tall people stood right in front of me. *sigh* My view actually wasn't too bad. I've certainly had worse, and the people around me were quite a lot of fun.

My strategy of going to the second show also seems to be paying off as a girl I was talking to said they were far better last night than the first night (like they were at the O2 last year), and while the set-list was only a little different, from last night's, it was different in amazing ways (Bliss! Citizen Erased! No Neutron Star Collision!)

A little further rambling )

Things like this is why I live in London, if I ever need reminding.

In non-Muse news:

1. I have a job for between 5-10 days! It's doing something I did in my last job and sounds almost interesting. Sadly it's only for two weeks at most, but it's something at least. I also just realised it's in London Bridge which is right by Monmouth Coffee. Oh god. This is both a good thing (amazing coffee) and a bad thing (oh, my wallet).

2. I uh, seem to have become the co-lead of the website testing team for AO3. I was flattered to be asked, and it gives me the opportunity to get more involved and learn even more about how the archive works, which I'm really looking forward to. :)

3. I managed to lock myself out of the house not once, but twice yesterday. I am a genius. I had to get my flatmate to come all the way home to let me in when the door slammed behind me after taking the rubbish out, and then I had to wake her and her boyfriend up when I misplaced my keys after the concert. I can't believe I did it twice in a day. *shakes head* I owe them dinner, or at least chocolate or alcohol.

4. Josh back catalogue re-watch progress: The Skulls is really not a good movie, worse that I remember. However Josh, Hill Harper and Leslie Bibb are all very pretty in it and it's really the plot that's at fault. Bobby, I mostly still like. (I watched it a few years ago on a plane and had completely forgotten Josh was even in it!) However, it did have way too many unnecessary characters and was pretty melodramatic. The acting (incl Josh's) was very good though.

5. Fringe is back soon! Less than two weeks! My excitement, let me show you it.

So, I finished S1 of Fringe. Yeah. It didn't take long. It really did hit its stride half way through, and I was so sucked in. Damn you, Abrams.

Deeper thoughts that OMG Joshua Jackson. Really. Well, mostly )

I had a thought about this Josh Jackson thing that watching Fringe has started again, and I think it pre-dates even Dawson's Creek (which I only really watched for about a season before ceasing to care and then caught up via TWOP recaps to make sure Dawson and Joey didn't end up together. Like I said, I watched it for about a season but I was on Pacey's side so hard that I was genuinely horrified when a close friend of mine said she favoured Dawson/Joey. I didn't even really like Joey, I just hated Dawson as a character that much. Anyway, tangent and weird), but might actually go back to The Mighty Ducks. Yes, really. The things you realise.

OMG, I wandered over to the Mighty Ducks wiki entry and someone has actually put together a roster for all the kids. I ... am a mix of impressed and scared.

I reset all my play counts in iTunes today. I am a little obsessed with them, so this is sort of a bigger thing than it may appear (so uh, still not very big). I'll probably regret it in a few days time. Today, all good.

I should really sleep. Staying up to finish those eps the last few nights is totally screwing with my sleeping patterns. Yay. Coffee tomorrow, yes. More than usual.

Missed some days again. I was busy, had drama (debit card charges that were not my own, people suck), and was in Belgium for the day (first trip to the continent, <3's Europe), so I got a little distracted.

Belgium btw was awesome. I went to Bruges, and there were old buildings, cobblestone streets, nice people, good chocolate and one amazing coffee with waffles. Had a great time, and I wasn't *too* interrogated when I re-entered the UK. *sigh*

Day 08. A song that makes you fall asleep

I didn't quite know what to do with this. I don't really tend to listen to too much music when I'm sleepy, I tend to fall asleep to TV episodes I play on my laptop, but I do have a few sleepy gentle sounding songs.

Veruca Salt - Aurora

From the Tank Girl soundtrack, which is a movie I do need to see at some point. Gorgeous song.

Hubble space pictures set to 'Aurora' via YouTube and the list of days )

I watched Dr Who this morning due to all the positive comments I saw on Twitter:

Dr Who: The Pandorica Opens )

I brought chocolate covered coffee beans back from Belgium. So good, but it all ends up with me being incredibly hyped up because I eat too many.

Two good things I found my ring I though I'd lost in a pair of trousers, and I have Them Crooked Vultures tickets for 5 July. Dave Grohl! <3

Hi from the other side of the world. :)

London is overall, pretty awesome. It's crazy and big, but also new, amazing and fun. Friends here have been amazing, and through them I have sorted out a flat and done lots of cool things. The job quest is progressing, I'm applying for a few things a day and I heard this morning that I now have an interview on Wednesday morning. w00t!

I'm currently staying on the couch in the flat that I'm moving into in just under two weeks (my friend and her boyfriend live here now) and discovered that there is a place that does good fairtrade flat whites near by. Bliss. It's maybe a little further out of central London than I'd hoped, but by no means waay far out, and it's a cute house on a good tube line with nice people, so I call it a win.

I keep expecting it to hit me that I'm in London, but it really hasn't, so I don't think it's really going to.

So far I've been to the Tate Modern (I walked past on my first day here and had to go in) and it was like walking through an art history lesson, and I got to see a Jackson Pollock painting. So. Awesome. I've also been out to Canterbury to see the cathedral, which was phenomenal, possibly because it was the first medieval church I've been to, but I loved it. I also went out to Leeds Castle (which is in Kent ... yes) which was also very cool.

I did go to the Tower, which I've wanted to see since I was ten, and it was cool, but there were just too many people to really appreciate it, which was a little disappointing. I'm planning to go again when there's less people about.

Fandom wise, I haven't been up to a lot. I finished Torchwood (never wanted to slap Jack so hard in my life) and saw Half-Blood Prince (good, but the end was a little disappointing), and saw some S2 Dr Who via TV on Demand (omg awseome).

I did however, listen to the new Muse song, United States of Eurasia. Huh. It's a little different, but I do quite like it, especially the piano. Needs a bit of a listen, I think.

Also, I need to find the Iron Man 2 footage from Comicon. Surely it must be around. You can't fail me now, internet. I seem to be getting increasingly obsessed with it. I re-watched Iron Man on the plane over, and right now, it's my DVD I miss the most. Odd.

Link: Echo Chamber of Secrets: 30 Media Muggles and their Harry Potter Counterparts. Some of these are inspired. Jon and Stephen = Fred and George, Anderson = Luna, Bill Kristol = Umbridge, however I do think BriWi gets off a little harshly.

Housekeeping: I did a bit of a flist trim, because it was getting a little unwieldy, mostly people who haven't posted in ages or I haven't really talked to a lot and our interests have diverged. Hopefully no hard feelings, but feel free to defriend back, I get it.

1. Going 'home' for the first time since you moved cities? Surreal.

2. YouTube? I love you. A lot.

3. Broadband? I love you more.

4. There are few things better than a really well made mochaccino. Guh.

5. Oh, Mexico. I feel for you. Damn Argentina. Yes, the goal that won it was beautiful, but I'm still annoyed about it, and the fact I won't be able to see the Portugal and Holland game tonight, because it will be awesome. Also, while I'm World Cup rambling, while I know it is extremely unlikely, how awesome would it be if Ghana won later this week? And France? I really think you're going down. Poor Thierry.

6. U.S May Have Been Abused in it's Formative Years. The Onion rocks. I have to remember to check it more often.

7. Comment with the name of a character in one of my fandoms, and I'll post you an instant mini-fanmix: 3-5 songs that remind me of that character.

Uh, it won't be instant, it might take me a couple of days but I'm curious and I've gotten some cool music from other people's already, so I decided to share the love.

8. Dear Prime TV,

Where is Doctor Who S2? * Where?! All these pictures of David Tennant in his rather delicious suits are killing me.

9. The downside of the really well made mochaccino that you decided to drink at 7pm? You're still wide awake at midnight when you have to be up for work in 7 hours. *sighs*

10. Somedays my flat is really rather awesome.

*Well, new Doctor Who S2. I realise there's been like 15 (?) seasons before the most recent incarnation.
