So, I finished S1 of Fringe. Yeah. It didn't take long. It really did hit its stride half way through, and I was so sucked in. Damn you, Abrams.

Oh, that's right, that's how you tell it's a J.J written episode. Twenty minutes into the episode and *then* you see the credits.

Charlie deserves a medal ... and is possibly in love with Olivia. (And I wrote this before I realised there was a Mrs. Charlie. Really didn't see that coming. Interesting. Doesn't preclude Charlie being a little in love with Olivia though, and on this show, it just makes him one of a large club).

Olivia does have a bit of a Mary Sue feel about her sometimes, it must be said. Is there anything she can't do? And even when she fucks up, it works out her way. However, she does really remind me of Sam in Without A Trace. Quite a lot. It's part physical resemblance to Poppy Montgomery and part mannerisms.

Peter/Olivia is sort of growing on me. That bar scene with the card tricks was super cute. Also, they would make a set of amazing criminals. Well I guess Peter is already a criminal, but seriously, it's an AU waiting to happen. (Or spies!)

Poor Peter. You'd really not want Walter to be on your side sometimes, but it's cute that he is.

That is one fugly jersey Peter is wearing in 'Bound.' In fact, all the jerseys are, but the coats are awesome.

Computer Science minor. Oh, Astrid. <3

I could also support some Peter/Astrid. Yes. Astrid and Peter really are sort of parents to Walter, as they even say near the end. ;)

The Hey It's That Guy/Person moments on this show were a little ridiculous for a while. James Frain, Jared Harris, Chance Kelly (Godfather from Gen Kill), Gbenga Akinnagbe (Chris from The Wire), Chris Bauer (Andy from True Blood), Jackie from The Good Wife/Michelle's grandmother from Dawson's Creek (heh) ... seriously.

I must say, the small continuity moments are very nicely done. The episodes do flow very nicely from one to the other and I like that, a lot.

Joshua Jackson with kids, you're kidding me with this. *sigh*

Peter has pissed so many people off, yet they still do things for him. How many favours does he owe at this point? He's a little bit like Veronica Mars with all the favours he asks for. Hmm, there's an intriguing combination of characters ...

Also, it is a nice way to get you out a plot hole. 'Oh, Peter knows someone ... ' Saying that, it's Peter, so I have a pretty high tolerance for it.

Oh god, Walter and television shopping. Hilarious.

Is it supposed to be shocking Bell is sponsoring ZFT? Because it wasn't particularly. Maybe just for the characters.

Oh, Peter with your geek knowledge of "Wrath of Khan." And buildings things. <3 (And in retrospect I wonder if they put that Spock reference in after they knew who was playing William Bell).

Well, that was one way to get rid of Harris. Ouch.

The ending was the bit I sort of spoiled myself for by reading Wikipedia. Peter's gravestone and the William Bell thing. Sort of wish I hadn't, but it's still interesting. Very interesting. Also, if that is not Mirror!William Bell meeting Olivia, then where is William Bell from the mirror world, or the alternate world. Whatever the accepted term for it is.

Overall: Good. Better than I expected, especially near the end. I think Olivia is a little Mary-Sue-ish and it plays fast and loose with some stuff, but overall I'm definitely intrigued enough to keep watching. Oh yes.

I had a thought about this Josh Jackson thing that watching Fringe has started again, and I think it pre-dates even Dawson's Creek (which I only really watched for about a season before ceasing to care and then caught up via TWOP recaps to make sure Dawson and Joey didn't end up together. Like I said, I watched it for about a season but I was on Pacey's side so hard that I was genuinely horrified when a close friend of mine said she favoured Dawson/Joey. I didn't even really like Joey, I just hated Dawson as a character that much. Anyway, tangent and weird), but might actually go back to The Mighty Ducks. Yes, really. The things you realise.

OMG, I wandered over to the Mighty Ducks wiki entry and someone has actually put together a roster for all the kids. I ... am a mix of impressed and scared.

I reset all my play counts in iTunes today. I am a little obsessed with them, so this is sort of a bigger thing than it may appear (so uh, still not very big). I'll probably regret it in a few days time. Today, all good.

I should really sleep. Staying up to finish those eps the last few nights is totally screwing with my sleeping patterns. Yay. Coffee tomorrow, yes. More than usual.
