For a day in which I spent 9- 4:15 at work, it's been a good day. Work went fine, I spent an hour and half in Starbucks re-reading OotP and then I had a pleasant evening catching up with friends and playing D&D.

--

I still don't know if I'm going to get OotP read before Saturday at 11 as tomorrow is going to be a rather hectic day, but I'm going to try as I've really got back into it now. So much happened that I completely forgot about. George and Harry getting banned from Quiddtich for example. I completely forgot that ever happened.

Keeping with OotP; I was going to post my OoTP re-read thoughts all together (yes, I am taking notes), but I'm going to say it now because I realise I don't say it nearly enough. I go on about Sirius and Remus but I also really love Minerva McGonagall, so much. So very much. Her and Fred and George are just all sorts of wonderful. Also, I'm feeling more for Ron and Molly in this read-through. In fact, I almost feel like I owe Molly some sort of apology for what I thought when I read OotP last time. Yes, I know, fictional.

Related rec: On Hating Cats and Other Lies by Eudora Bragg. (Gen, with Sirius/Remus hints) Written for the [livejournal.com profile] reversathon and gah. Sirius! Remus! McGonagall! The pain and the love and the... just read it. It says so much about all of them in just such an (appearingly) effortless way. It's beautiful.

The squee I've seen about Nightwing #110 and Fables #39 is making me bounce and really looking forward to Tuesday. Mmm, comics. I don't talk about them a lot in here and some days I do wonder why I spend as much money as I do on them each week but then there's that one issue that makes you just go 'wow' and then you remember what a powerful (or amusing) story-telling medium it's capable of being in the right hands.

All the shows that I've seen lauded by either critics or the dear old flist are hitting NZ now. Doctor Who just started, Grey's Anatomy was on last night (I watched and quite enjoyed it), Veronica Mars is starting tomorrow (must remember to set VCR), Desperate Housewives starts Monday and Without A Trace S3 is coming soon. *dies* To think a couple of months ago I was only complaining that there was nothing on!

--

I'm very wide awake (two mochas and a bottle of Coke apparently make me rather bouncy, who would have thought?) and the Emmy nominations are less than an hour away, so I'll stay up for those to be announced and maybe read some more OotP. Hugh Laurie should hopefully be a safe-bet and I'm crossing my fingers for more House noms, but I'm realistic enough that I don't think it's that likely. It'll be Lost's show, I think.
