The Internet was good to me yesterday:

1. I got my (metaphorical) hands on the latest ep of House Need to Know )

2. I found a really interesting thread about the Logan/Veronica relationship in S2.

3. I finally found out where the L/V arm touch was and got a clip of it. (Ruskie Business, for the curious).

4. I got a new L/V moodthememade by [livejournal.com profile] nighfall_icons/[livejournal.com profile] nordmaedchen. Which I decided I needed at 1:30 this morning. *facepalm*

5. Did I mention that my brain is still hijakced by Logan and Veronica, and occasionally Weevil?

6. Scans from the latest Nightwing. Comics, I do still love you really, I just really can't afford to buy you right now. I miss you. spoilers )

Random Television Thoughts:

1. I watched the pilot of Commander-in-Chief and ... eh. It was okay. Not too bad in places. I'll keep watching, if only for the fact that I'm a politics junkie. I think any US politics show is going to suffer with me as I'll always compare it to TWW, which is unfair, but that's the way it is.

2. Also, Wednesday brought NZ the start of Lost S2. Man of Science, Man of Faith )

3. While documenting what was actually on the video tapes we have piled next to our tv (so I can decide which ones I'm stealing away with me) I found the ones that had 'Bad Wolf' and 'A Parting of Ways' on them. Both of them (but APoW especially) get better every time I see them. Just, awesome. Jack/Rose/Doctor! <3

Real Life:

1. Packing. Goodbyes. Procrastinating from packing. Freaking out. Self doubt. Frustration.

Meme:

1. Which Star-Trek Character Am I? )

2. I really want to do the 'seven songs' meme before I go. I've been meaning to share some songs for ages.

Edit: I just completely forgot how to spell Wednesday. As in, I had to look in a dictionary. Yeah, today's going to be a good brain day.

Well, I'm back, and to be honest, I really wish I wasn't. Queenstown was heaps of fun and now I feel like I've just been dumped back down in reality again with its job applications and all its other shit. *sighs*

I have conquered all of the flist entries I've missed. Yes, all 480 of them, including the ones that dealt with the bombings in London on Thursday. When I was away, as soon as I saw the newscast my stomach lurched and I quickly ran up to borrow my friend's computer to check my flist. I was so happy to see that everyone of my LJ-acquaintance was unhurt.

I might type up a longer Queenstown entry and include some photos, but to sum up, it was a low-key and very enjoyable five days. There was some fannish things (Lost finale, seeing Batman Begins) and some just plain odd things (who knew SingStar could be addictive, even to those who really can't sing?)

Brief 'Batman Begins' thoughts )

As for the Lost finale, I don't have any really detailed thoughts other than to say than I really, really liked it. Way to work the suspense, J.J.

--

Also watched the first ep of the new Doctor Who series. It was ... interesting. Definitely not bad, but I wasn't blown away either. However, that was my original reaction to Firefly and House and look where that's got me. ;)

--

I've finally started my OotP read-through. *deep breath* I'll post my thoughts all at once, but I did watch my friend do her read-through when she was down in Queenstown and it was so cute seeing her squeeful and fearful reactions. 5 days till HBP. Wow. I've taken the whole weekend off work as I think it's unlikely I'm going to get it all read Saturday day as I have Shihad tickets for Saturday night. I am keeping well away from any spoilers, as while I can handle them for some things, this is definitely an exception.

I really hate asking people to be referees on job applications. Especially as getting a third referee who is not a family member or close friend is going to mean e-mailing a lecturer from last year and admitting that I have really done very little with this year. I can't think of another option. I've only had one 'real' job and two supervisors from that are already my referees. *frets*

Note to self: You actually want this job. Suck it up already and type the e-mail. It's not like you actually have to talk to her in person.

*holds back her fangirlish thoughts about RSL saying that the Getty Museum is his 'after-work hangout' in this scan*

I have to sit my learner's driving exam tomorrow. (Yes, I'm 22 and don't even have my learner's. I've just never felt compelled to learn). Instead of studing - and I do mean to study because while everyone is telling me it's easy as hell, it's costing me nearly 90 bucks to sit - I did the following:

- Watched a so-so epsidoe of LOST Born to Run - spoilers )

- Watched Sideways, which was okay but it didn't really click with me till the last 15 minutes or so. What made it click - spoilers )

- Spent far too long at this site reading RSL interviews. He's such a geek! This does not help the obsession. At all. I don't even find him that physically attractive but there's just something about him. Gah. Must stop this, it's rather insane. It's bringing back the days of the Jospeh Fiennes obsession.

Edit: No, self, now is not the time to start sorting out tags for all your entries ...
