I think procuring this from a friend was the only reason I dragged myself into work today.

!!!

I was even spoiled and still !!!

However, I have faith in RTD's love of the reset button. There's just no way. Lalala. David is not leaving my television. I can't hear you. Also, hasn't he been confirmed for next season?

Overall, I did actually like this a lot. I always get worried with RTD's finales, because I was not, John Simm's and Martha's awesomeness aside, a huge fan of the end of last season, but I think this time he did hit the balance between cracked out plot of coincidences (and oh, was it cracked) and the characters. I loved how everyone came together.

In fact, I just went back and watched again and just, eeee! <3! Out of space Facebook!

Jack was awesome in this, and I say this as someone who is not a huge Jack fangirl. He was all supportive and cuddly (forehead kisses ftw!!!) and flirty and just, oh, Jack. I especially loved his phonecalls with Martha and his assurances that he would be back this time.

Jack: I met this soldier in a bar ...
Ianto: When?
Ianto: Strictly professional.

Jack, I do not think that word means what you think it means.

I was a little annoyed with Rose's Martha thing, although Martha had a Rose thing too, so maybe I'm applying some sort of double standard there, and Rose has met Donna before, and she didn't really get on with Sarah Jane the first time either ... anyway, they have to meet. Mostly because I just really want to see it.

Also, there was Ianto. Everything is more awesome with Ianto. He has to meet the Doctor ... okay, I admit it I want everyone in the same room at once, because it would make me so freaking happy. The Doctor's rather diverse crazy family!! Anyway ...

Donna. Oh, honey, I don't know. (I have read nothing about Catherine Tate next season ... ) I fear for you.

Also, I admit my dormant Ten/Rose 'shipper came out to play when they saw each other. I uh, may have been muttering threats towards RTD is he screwed with this moment ... and, look, he did. It's not that I think they should be together forever (in fact, not so much) I just wanted them to have that moment. Ah well, I'm sure they'll get something. Have to.

I did like the crazy Dalek Caan. Dude brought back Davros, he really is kinda impressive, in an evil world-ending kind of way, isn't he?

I have to agree with the review over at io9 that they almost want RTD to stick around for another full season to see what he possibly would do with another season finale and how OMG End of the World to top the ones that have gone before, because seriously.

Also, in that review it picks up that Donna has 2 heartbeats in that scene where she's sitting on the steps. Dude.
