I meant to post earlier, but uh, I haven't.

Auckland was great. I hung out with my friend before she left on her big UK adventure, reaffirmed my love for Japanese food, watched three very different but enjoyable movies (The Darjeeling Limited, Planet Terror and Lars and the Real Girl) and discovered how hard it is to the move across the world with a 20kg luggage allowance.

The Foo Fighters were ridiculously awesome.

Our concert (which turned out to not only be the last show in NZ, but the last show of the whole tour) contained:

- Dave Grohl talking a lot as he had fucked his voice the night before
- Dave Grohl falling over and breaking the neck of his guitar during "Everlong" and then springing up and singing the end of the song sans guitar
- The Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins Comedy Hour
- A six song (!!!) encore instead of the normal three
- A male stripper to celebrate Chris Shifeltt's birthday

The high point was probably the beautiful acoustic version of "My Hero" but really all of it was so, so good. Dave Grohl is insane and wonderful and <3!

I'm to make the most of my two days of leave, but it's not really working. I spent most of tonight playing around with my tumblelog which is something I thought I'd give a go for a while, as I just cannot seem to commit to a 'real' blog and LJ serves a different purpose for me. So, fingers crossed I can keep it up for a bit.

ETA: I knew there was something that was stopping me post about Auckland. I, uh, may have left my iPod on the flight home. /o\ I went straight back when I realised and someone checked the plane for me but it wasn't there. I am going to ring the airport again tomorrow to check, but I don't like my chances. EPIC FAIL. I adore that thing. It was dying, but :( (maybe I'll get a Touch to replace it with, a lot of $$$ but oh so pretty).
