So, I think the lesson I learnt here is that I really shouldn't watch the Heroes clips that inevitably come onto YouTube midweek. The promos are fine, but I'd already seen the Nathan and Hiro scene, bits of the scene between Claire and her Dad and a lot of the Hiro and his Dad scene before I'd sat down to watch the ep last night, and I do think that ruined this ep for me a little bit. I am keeping well away from them this week.

Still, I enjoyed the ep a lot, even though there was a lot of set-up going on there.

There were a couple of things that fandom had pretty much predicted were going to happen, Micah fixing the election and Linderman healing Heidi.

I did like that Candace got a little bit of character development in that scene with Micah. That was very nicely done actually.

Totally did not see the Linderman death coming. At all. And to be honest, I was a little grumpy about it, mostly because I am a backstory whore and really wanted him to hang around and share scenes with Mama Petrelli and Hiro's Dad. I wanted to know more about him! And the whole former Heroes thing. Also, Malcolm MacDowell rocked. However, saying that he does heal ... so maybe? Though saying that, having one's brain removed like that does seem fairly permanent. But then the show is kinda like a comic book and in comics death is well, a fairly flexible concept. (And yeah, I do know about the Heroes:Origins five eps they're doing, which does sound awesome).

However, I will say, damn that is an awesome way to kill someone. Go D.L!

Speaking of awesome, that police van rolling stunt looked so fucking cool. Poor Ted, though he was really doomed from the start.

Also good was the return of Clea Duvall, and Baby!Hiro. So cute! Though my heart did break a little in his scene with Nathan when he was yelling 'Villian' after him. *sniff*

Peter and Claire continued to have awesome scene and I loved Claire's comment about going on patrols. *squishes her*

Nathan ... I worry. I do. I just don't know which way you're going to go and I'm not sure which would be more awesome.

That gun standoff is the thing that is freaking me out the most going into next week. Mohinder! Bennet! Molly! Guns! Ma ... yeah, sorry, as much as I like Greg Grunberg, I'm still not really caring, Matt. But ... *flail*

Oh, yeah, and Sylar. Damn that 'boom' at the end was chilling.

And Ando! Dude. Ando! You can't just run off like that while Hiro is having his samurai training montage.

So ... yeah. This has been one of these reviews where the more I type the more I realise how much I did like it. Really can't wait till next week. I have no idea how they're going to pull it off.

Definitely needs a rewatch though. Oh, life is hard.

Also, renewed my paid account today and decided I might as well get the ridiculous amount of userpics. 115! Yay! Now, I just need to make some new ones. I had my image editor open tonight and everything ... I just got a little distracted. How unlike me.

Finally, wow the Republican debate tonight was insane. That torture question and just, yeah, I cannot wait to see what Jon does with it. Probably not tonight, but tomorrow night's show should be a lot of fun. Hopefully I'm home early enough from dinner tomorrow night to catch it.

From the sound of these posts sometimes you'd think I live in the US. Nope, just a little obsessed with its politics.
