In the last three days I have watched:
1 Battlestar Galactica 2003 Mini-Series
It was very well done. There were a couple of minutes where my hand actually went to my mouth. Mostly when I though Baltar might just read out the wrong number to that old woman because that would have been cold. He didn’t though, which was nice.
Though saying that, mmm, Baltar. James Callis is really very nice to look at and Baltar is quite the interesting character. I mean, there was no way for him have known, but he still does carry some of the blame for the invasion. I really thought he may have been wrong about the public affairs guy as a Cylon but I suppose he was annoyed enough and scared enough that he didn’t just hang someone out to dry for his own sake. He has a bit of a Bashir vibe about him but I think that’s more the accent, brainpower and looks that are talking and not his actual personality. ‘I’m on no one’s side.’ Interesting.
But dude, Boomer is a Cylon sleeper!? *sniff * I really liked her and I really liked her and the Chief together too. And she is the one looking after the kid. Should be interesting though. Also, she’s so cute. *cough * I’m superficial, this is not new.
The President’s aide and army girl were also very cute.
As you can see, I was all about the background characters. Starbuck, Apollo, Roslin and Adama were all well and good, and their interactions were pretty damn cool (Starbuck admitting she had passed Zach for Basic Flight should cause some interesting repercussions) and I do care, just not as much as about some other characters.
I think the officer on the deck who plotted the jump courses might have a slight geek!crush on Baltar.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable three hours and now I’m interested in the series. Damn. Ah well, I probably needed something else with Spooks having finished now. It just can’t air on Friday… *checks * Nope, Saturday 7:30. Another thing I have to VCR. I wonder how far through we are …
6 epsidoes of S2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer ('Passions' through 'Becoming Part II')
It’s kind of like X-Files in the way that there are episodes that don’t impress me and then episodes that have me completely enraptured. The way Joss handled those last story arcs was just wonderful, other series could learn from that.
Buffy is still absolutely my favourite character but I did grow a larger appreciation for Xander, Giles and for the Spike/Angel vibes.
Angel, I still remain a little iffy about. Angelus is a lot more fun, but such a bastard. Angel, I don't know, I'm just not a huge fan.
However the Buffy/Angel scene at the end of 'Becoming Part II' had me sniffling. Also, the scene in 'Passions' where Giles is moving through his house and you just know Jenny's body is in there somewhere? That scene rocked!
Had I not just finished watching 7 episodes of Firefly, I imagine there would be more squee here.
1 Lost episode
1 Southpark episode (I should definitely start watching this more regularly. Hilarious.)
7 Firefly episodes (DVDs in Region 4! Found them today! So much love! Can't stop exclaminng!)
[enter rather redudant squee here about my love for this series, how much I adore all the characters - yes even Inara, a little bit - and my hatred for the FOX Televison network, though the bastards do still happen to air House, but they play that out of order too!]
And little did I know that today was a particularly apt day to buy Firefly DVDs.
'Serenity' Trailer!
OMG! That is one fucking great trailer. It needs to be September (or whenever the hell NZ is actually going to get this movie) now!
I love how much squee there has been on my flist about this. *plans to spread the Firefly love far and wide*

RL wise, it's been an odd day. I got my graduation portrait done that my mother wanted me to get. I just can't relax enough to smile in photos.
Note to self: Do not write postcards while in a rambling, penisve, lost-in-the-world mood. (
julianelupin, I apologise in advance. I was in a weird mood).

I really wanted to get up earlier tomorrow too.
