Olympics <3

The opening ceremony was crazy but in a good way. I thought it lost it's way in places and I'm sorry but solo Paul McCartney just doesn't do it for me, but most of it was great. Loved, loved the cauldron and how it included pieces that were carried in with the teams. <3! Overall I thought Danny Boyle did a great job and um, good on him for scoring a few political points along the way. Seriously.
Looking forward to watching the events now I have the live streaming sorted. Stupid DNS settings.
Job wise: I have an interview for a temp job on Tuesday! It's not exactly what I want to be doing but it's an okay job and it will accommodate my UK/Europe trip, mean I won't have to deal with Work and Income and I'm really over this unemployment thing. So, fingers crossed.

Thoughts and feelings:
I ... liked it, but I also had some issues. I'm not quite sure where it ranks in the Nolan Batman trilogy for me at the moment. I think I probably need to watch Batman Begins again.
Anne Hathaway was so, so great as Catwoman. I'm usually ambivalent on reboots, but I would watch many more movies with her as Selina. Reminded me how much I enjoyed the Catwoman run of Ed Brubaker.
I found Christian Bale a lot more bearable in this movie, probably because he spends a lot less time as Batman with the stupid voice.
Dude travels fast between hole-in-the-ground prisons and Gotham. (see also: that bomb went off far too close to Gotham for it to be okay, although yes as was pointed out to me in a review, we don't know what kind of radiation it was emitting, if indeed any harmful to humans).
I'm ... almost disappointed that Alfred saw him at the end. I think I'd preferred them to leave it ambivalent tbh. And talking of Alfred, his scenes gave me all the feelings. The real heart of the movie.
I liked Tom Hardy and JGL, perhaps Tom a slightly bit more. I had no problems understanding Bane but I wonder if that was the sound in the cinema we were in. As
labellementeuse and I discussed post-viewing, I did like that JGL's character was sort of a combination of Dick, Tim and Jason, even if the 'Robin' mention at the end was a little heavy-handed.
I really should have seen the Talia twist coming and yet ... I didn't. Nicely played, Nolan.
I thought the politics of the movie were quite interesting, but I don't have it in me right now to go into any real detail. I've been reading some reviews that explore that side with some interest though.
Not quite as many feelings as last week but it was a solid episode. Tuxes never do a lot for more if i'm being honest (except when the bow-tie is undone, then I'm totally there), but I quite liked the casino setting.
I expected a little more 'Harvey is falling apart' but they handled it quite subtly. I'd maybe have preferred something more overt but I just like Harvey actually expressing emotion. "She's irreplaceable." Yes, yes she is. Also him picking up that phone was just sad. Donna, come back!
Loved Mike and Harvey in Mike's apartment and Harvey totally would have had to fix Mike's bowtie, so why didn't we see that, show. Enquiring slashers want to know.
Also um, Gabriel Macht was slightly too good at that stare-down scene at the end. Holy shit. Do not screw with him, Louis, you will regret it.
Jessica rocked in this episode. She actually got to do things. The prank she pulled was uh, kinda awful, but she was so HBIC that I overlooked it. To be honest both her and Harvey are quite awful people with some very endearing qualities.I love that she made fun of his, 'life is this, I like this' speech and included the hand movements!! I do love their relationship.
I quite liked the Louis and Rachel subplot mostly because it gave Rachel lots to do that had nothing to do with Mike. I felt for her with the dicatphone scene though, because that is going to trample of her burgeoning friendship with Louis and possible chances of more associate-level work.
Can Harold go away? He just isn't funny.
Fanart rec: This is the top post on my Tumblr right now and I keep flipping back to the tab. Sleeepy Avengers. <3 So much awesome fanart in that particular fandom.
