My week has been a little blah. I need to find another job. Not that the one I have is all bad, but I am not a PA (and nor was I originally hired to be one), and organising meetings is so not my idea of fun.
But I had a nice time last night watching DVDs with my friend which included Fringe S2 from 'Brown Betty' through 'Over There Part II.' <3! Watching also involved a lot of defending of Peter, but to be fair my friend was just hassling him because he knows about my thing for Josh. Mmm, he looked good on an HD TV.
Earlier in the week, instead of doing something productive with my free Monday, I mainlined the episodes of the Good Wife I hadn’t seen, which was pretty much all of S2. I am now all caught up, and oh, l love it.
Show! I’m sorry I stopped watching for you are awesome.
Alicia! Diane! Will! Kalinda! I love you all.
I even love Carey most of the time …except what was with that slightly odd first cousin crush thing going on in the most recent ep? That might come back. It would be unlike this show to introduce that and then just ignore it.
Oh, and Eli. <3 While the rest of (adult) cast is awesome, Alan Cumming is amazing. God, I love him. Such a fun character.
The Florrick kids however continue to be stupid and unsympathetic.
Did not pick that Alicia would learn about Will’s call via the phone taps. Nice.
One small thing that does bug me. Would a States Attorney’s race get this much coverage and have this many viral political attacks happening. Now, maybe I’m just naïve and I know it’s Chicago, which has its own rules, but it seems slightly unbelievable to me.
Always happy to see shows keeping Wire actors employed too. Bodie!! Cutty! And Chris is still around (and awesome). Now, if you could just find some work for Seth Gilliam (Carver), I would be delighted. If not, I will look in the direction of the other Wire actor employing show of my heart, Fringe. ;)
.
There are also Fringe spoilers about:
I knew vaguely about Olivia’s stepfather being on the show, and I think it’ll be an interesting storyline to pursue, but uh, you need another interesting storyline, Fringe? You have quite a few already. Unless it all links nicely together, which you know, would be sort of awesome and I’d be willing to give the writers that much credit. But Olivia needs more shit to deal with? Between her and Peter (not to mention Walter), it’s sometimes surprising that they’re all functioning at all with all the stuff that’s gone down. Poor Astrid, the sole vaguely well-adjusted one. (You could argue for Broyles and Nina, but I’m not even completely sold that they are either).
I also have some rampant speculation about Firefly based on the promo where Peter looks shot and something Anna has said before that they’re taking the machine storyline in a interesting way and that means cool stuff for Josh to do. (*glee*)
Maybe Peter does die (or rather looks like he dies), but then comes back? This could potentially tie into what people have noticed in previous eps that Peter has some vaguely defined power (he can calm Olivia, calm Walter, Olivia came back when he touched her in ‘New Day in the Old Town’, the pen thing in ‘Olivia’, even that he helped Olivia with the lights in ‘Ability’ which I think is a little bit of a stretch – I prefer to believe it was just Olivia and to be honest, it’s awesome enough that Peter just came back, I mean, that’s some faith - but I’m prepared to go with it). That would certainly be interesting, and would mean that Observers trigger it to show him, maybe? I don’t know. It needs to be January 21st.
Also, Anna did a cast interview all red lipstick and wavy hair. She looked gorgeous. Intriguing though, very intriguing. Date? Party? Undercover? A completely unrelated to the filming of the show moment? In any case my 'shipper self needs Peter to see her like this. I feel slightly guilty for bringing out the soap opera side, but I can't seem to help it. One of the best fanservice-y things the show could do (imo obviously) is do the random plot thing that requires everyone to wear formal wear .... yeah. Part of me feels guilty about this, but only part of me. :p

1. Too adorable 2 year old talking about US Presidents. You will never hear ‘Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!’ said more adorably
2. Sometimes I wonder why I check the comments on ONTD posts, but then sometimes they deliver gold like this. The Tenth Doctor: A Musical - Amazing Dr Who music video covering Ten’s … tenure. Awesome music choices, and just go watch it. It’s so well done.
3. Andrew Garfield and Emma Roberts are pretty together while filming the new SpiderMan movie. I totally rolled my eyes when I heard about this prequel/reboot/whatever, but I’m actually quite keen to see it now. Blame my increasing interest in/respect for Andrew Garfield and Emma Roberts. I need to see Easy A and Never Let Me Go
4. Stephen Colbert is adorable - a video of him at a taping.
This Arsenal vs Leeds game has been so stressful and potentially could have been incredibly depressing. For fuck's sake, boys, could you make it more difficult for yourselves? Argh! CESC!! <3!
