I went to a Andy Zaltzman gig tonight! It was an Edinburgh preview show in a pub in Clapham with an audience of maybe 50 people at the most. So cool. He was using us as much as a focus group as an audience, which is amusing as the show is on in a week. Overall, I really enjoyed it. He wandered in places but the way he told the story of having to deliver his own son was hilarious, even though I'd heard it on The Bugle before. Thought really hard about saying hello after the gig because it would have been so easy to, but didn't. Kinda wish I had now. Ah well.

Other than that, Fringe obsession rolls on. Pondering fic. It was also distracting me from work and I in no way updated my Fringe S2 thoughts posts from a work computer this afternoon. Nope, not at all.

I don't quite know where this came from. A combination of the way Peter acts a the end of the finale, an episode description of 301 (which might be bogus) and this Josh Jackson Comicon interview, but ... what if Peter knew that it was Alt!Olivia that came back with them. But didn't say anything for his own reasons.

I don't really like it, because it's a prick-ish thing for Peter to do. I mean, hello, wouldn't you think to look for Olivia, who is now stranded in an alternate universe? I mean, she can look after herself but it still sucks for her, and he does care about her!

Anyway, rampant speculation. The more I think about the more unlikely I think it is. Something is up though.

Tangentially related: Funny-or-Die.com video shot during ComiCon of Pacey-Con 2010 starring Josh. Hilarious.

Mad Men was pretty good, but I have nothing really to say about it.

True Blood was, well

If I could have taken just the Eric bits out of this ep I would have been happy. However, there were all sorts of other bits. *sigh*

Let's start with the positive. Oh, Eric. It amused me how Sookie became a lot less of priority when he had both his revenge and Pam to worry about. The 'shippers probably didn't like that. For a while there I thought he had stopped worrying about Pam after learning who Russell was, but thankfully that was not the case. Good, because, you know, it's Pam, Eric. The show really can't do without her.

I hope your gambit pays off, Eric, but really not so sure at this stage.

Sookie telling Eric to rescue Bill was hilarious. Um, Sookie, he wouldn't have done that even if he was head over heels in love with you.

Russell is growing on me as a villain.

Jessica, still awesome.

I didn't even watch the Bill/Lorena bits. I briefly skipped through and just, no. I'm not really that squeamish when it comes to violence, but, just, what was in that ep was pretty much torture porn and I have no desire to see it. Also, Lorena hassled Godric. Bitch.

Tara 'killing' Franklin was another place I thought they went too far with the blood and guts, but Tara was so awesome when she yelled at Sookie, so it balances out.

Jason, Sam ... blah.

This episode did make me wonder why I watch this regularly. *sigh* I'll no doubt persevere. I mean, it can be good, and well, there's Eric, but I think at some point that's not going to be enough.

I thought there was something else, but I can't think of it right now. Oh, I should sleep.
