My four day weekend is over. *sigh* I got an extra day because my work had an extra holiday. It's been nice, but being home by myself today made me think back to the months I spent unemployed and how I really don't want to go back there. Really. *wills the British economy in an upward direction*
After the first part, which was a little lackluster, I wasn't expecting too much of the second one, even though second parts do seem to better due to the fact that that is where the payoff tends to be. But despite that, this episode made me cry! And this was even before Rory. Tony and Nasrene staying together made me a little teary, and then, oh Rory. To be honest, I'm a little annoyed he died (or seemed to die, I'm not entirely sure there won't be a magical reset button in the season somewhere), mostly because he was growing on me, and also I'm a bit over Doctor/Companion flirtations or more-than-flirtations and I kind of liked the complication of having Rory there. But we'll see how it goes. It was a very quick Joss-Whedon-surprise sort of death. *sigh* Poor Amy.
Overall, I have to say I liked the episode more than I thought I would, I found the Silurians interesting, but the ending left me feeling a little bit weird. Hmm.
Also, it is quite possible I spent far too many hours watching NCIS episodes this long weekend. I saw a tweet from Rob who writes Topless Robot a cool geek blog, about how NCIS is the crack cocaine of procedural television, and that is so true, dude.
Oh, this show. I always end of mainlining it and remembering how much I like it and then forgetting to keep up with it as it airs. I swear part of the fun is trying to figure out how they're going to shoe-horn the Navy in this week, because there are only so many ways to do that. I get the Navy is a big organisation, but sometimes it strains credulity more than a little. Saying that, the show's continuity and threads between episodes are better than a lot of procedural shows, so it's not that big a deal really.
Anyway, overall, I though the season was a little blah, although the constant threat around Gibbs was interesting, as was the continuing Tony/Ziva-ness, even though I'm not quite sure how I feel about it on screen. I tend to ship Tony/Anyone, but I'm not quite sure. I'm still pondering it.
Talking of Tony. Oh, Tony. As always I feel like they overplay his crazy juvenile side, mostly because Michael Weatherley does it so well, but I still love him. His relationship with McGee is cute (and jealous!McGee when he was getting close to that cop), and there was also a few moments of Gibbs/DiNozzo going on which I enjoyed. Also, when Abby threw himself at him after she though they had radiation poisoning ... yeah, I mentioned 'shipping Tony/Everyone, right? ;)
Abby and Gibbs at the end when she had to decide whether to turn the report in or not kept making me tear up. Damn. I love their relationship.
I felt for Ziva not having Gibbs or Tony there at her citizenship ceremony.
Also, can we leave the Ziva-doesn't-get-idioms joke alone now please, I think it's had its time, you know?
Yay for Palmer getting more charcterization.
Gibbs also seemed to have a lot of female attention, more than I remember in other seasons, but perhaps I'm just forgetting. I liked Holly Snow, even though I don't think I'd 'ship them, but M.Allison Hart bugged me. Maybe it was the actress, but she just annoyed me, and I think they might put her more obviously with Gibbs in the future and just, eh.
I was waiting for the cliffhanger and ... eep.

kaydeefalls. Just a gorgeous look at Amy, and it reminded me again what a great songwriter Vienna Teng is.
Hi I'm a Marvel and I'm a DC 100th episode: The Musical: Action figure Iron Man! Singing! About continuity! Anyway, it's awesome. I love the guy who does these, they're so well done. Warning: the song is extremely catchy.
