SGA: The Last Man

So, I like time travel stories and AU stories, a lot. I want to go back and watch the SG-1 seasons I missed to see the crazy time-travel AU eps they had in those seasons, but here it just seemed out of place in the middle of the whole Teyla and Michael thing they had going on. Like, both storylines deserved their own space. I realise they had to have less Rachel in the ep, but was that the only way to do it? I also think Martin Gero or Carl Binder would have been better for the concepet ... Malozzi and Mulie aren't horrible, but they're not great either.

Anyway, I liked it, mostly. Didn't love it and thought it could have been a lot more, but liked it. Mostly.

Oh, Rodney. I ... just. You, with the fixing the timeline and the adorable and the scenes with John and everyone ... oh, <3 I loved the montage when Rodney trying to find the solution too. Pyjamas! Jeannie! And the Hewletts put so much into that little scene they had.

The Rodney/Keller scenes were cute actually. I bought it. Mostly beacuse well, John was gone, so no OTP interference. (Yeah, I am a OTP kind of girl, I am resigned to it).

I loved that John thought to menion that you know, screwing with the timeline was going to mean Rodney/Keller never happened. He was all concerned. Also, there was some Smart!Johm, who is totally one of my favourite Johns. I also keep fixating on the sandstorm comment but I think's that my whole obsessive need to know more about John's military history stepping in there.

Also? He was missing for 12 days? Eeeep. Oh, Rodney, that would have sucked. I'd love to read a fic about Rodney is those 12 days though. Oh, angst, why are you so delicious.

I loved Sam so hard in her death scene. So hard. Her final scene with Rodney was awesome and her determination with the kamikaze run was so well done, and just, <3 I've liked her a lot this season, and especailly her interaction with John. (But then when I think about it, I find everyone's interaction with John fascinating ... see: Lorne, Ronon, Teyla ... and there's some McKay guy.) But yay Sam! And she was a captain. <3

The Todd and Ronon was also a highlight. 'I was just going to blow it up.' 'Naturally.' Todd's Wraith!Snark is so good and Ronon's smile at the end. Awesome.

I do wonder how much John told when he got back. All of it? Some of it, certainly, but did he edit it? I kinda want to read the fic where John starts noticing things that were in the other timeline and starts freaking out etc.

Last scnee. Eeeeep. That's a lot of collapsing building. Someone is going to be injured under all of that. My vote is John. I also very happy that Marin Gero is writing the ep that gets them out of this.

I was so excited for this ep when I read the spoilers too. I thought it was a total John ep, and yeah, he was important, but really it was a Rodney ep. Not that I have any problem with those, just that I was expecting something else, and it kinda jarred me.



I can't quite believe that's the last ep but there is fic and BSG and Dr. Who. First full season of SGA in fully obsessed fan mode. It's been fun. :)
