Decision, for now...
Apr. 21st, 2005 01:26 amI met my friend for coffee at the university today. It was the first time I've been back since last year. It brought up all sorts of lovely mixed feelings. However, I think I've decided to just earn some money this year and use it to travel (Oz, maybe, nowhere big and scary like Europe yet) because mmm, travel and maybe pay some of my loan back. I don't think I'll move cities, however I still would like to move out of my parent's house. I think a slip back into acadaemia is inevitable but I'm happy with that. I do miss it. Research is just something I love.
As always, that decision is subject to change. Hell, I've rambled a lot about this in here. Up and down, up and down.
Fandom:
Medical Investigation: This week it was actually really good, and not just in a 'good for MI way' either, it was actually a very enjoyable TV episode. Yes, it did involve Christopher Gorham angsting and that might have swayed me a little bit.
EDIT: And then I find
tzikeh's list of US shows that have been renewed, cancelled or on the edge. Ah well, I wasn't too emotionally invested. *looks at where Everybody Loves Raymond is with a lot of happiness*
House: All this squeeing about the latest ep to air in the US is making me twitch. Yes, I read people's reports (beacuse really, it was always going to happen) but still, so many eps to go! (Fidelity is the next to air here). Also, this weeks House vs The OC battle might be interesting. I think I'll tape House, so I can watch it more than once and I still feel I really should have watched at least part of last week's OC.
And because obviously once I start talking about this I can't stop, while calmly flicking through the TV Guide, as you do
Sela Ward is apparently being brought on to play a long-term (*wince*) love interest for House. It actually made me yelp and throw the TV Guide back onto the coffee table. :p I mean, it was proabably inevitable because there had to be someone, at some time before the leg (and according to David Shore, who was quoted, she's someone House has previously loved) but damn. I realise it can't be the House and Wilson show all the time and I'm not totally negative about it because it means the Cameron storyline will die a little, (I like you Cameron, really) but it's interesting and not interesting in a completely good way.
Also, Sela Ward? I only know her from Once and Again and that's not exactly a positive association. (Though bear in mind, I am judgemental and didn't watch the show all that much).
It may be old news but it was new to me.
Comics: Mmm, Nightwing 107 and Ultimates 2 5 this week were so good. Very nice week for comics indeed.
Lost: Still watching and still enjoying it but not in a 'need to find fic, now!' way. It's nice. It's a calm enjoyment as opposed to some other things. ;)
