Random Fandom Ramblings? In this LJ?

owlbeerIn short, because every time I get around to typing this post out I am way too tired and should have gone to bed ages ago:
1. TV3 in their infinite wisdom has placed the first episode of House opposite The OC. I am not home tomorrow night. Our house only has one VCR. *grumbles*
2a. Firefly: *loves* Still adoring Kaylee, still kind of shipping Simon/Kaylee and still not caring about Inara.
This ep just stomped on some cliches. Zoe choosing, without any agonising look, between Wash and Mal. Though to be honest, given the circumstances, you knew who she was going to choose anyway.
Also, this:
Zoe: This is something the captain needs to do for himself ... *pause for important cliched moment*
Mal: *small voice* No, it's not.
Zoe: Oh ... *shoots big ass gun*
Brilliant. :D
Canon femmeslash, and I still don't care what's going on with Inara. Yeah, I think that ship has sailed. I tried, I really did.
Shipping wise: As I said outside the cut. Simon/Kaylee is just so damn cute, but I do see (and kind of like) Kaylee/River. While I easily see Kaylee/Inara, I can't bring myself to really like it because of my apathy toward Inara. As for Simon/River, I see where people get it from, I really do, but I don't think I could actually ship it. Zoe/Wash is wonderful. Mal's true OTP is probably Mal/Serenity. :p
Part of me is almost liking that there are only 13 episodes because it means I'm not constantly catching up on canon and having to avoid spoilers. I know it's going to end soon and part of me likes that. Of course, a bigger part of me is going, 'WTF FOX!? YOU CANCELED THIS!'

lierdumoa here. I kind of spoiled myself by watching it but not really because I don't know the context of the scenes I saw. Oh shush, it does too count. I'm glad I did anyway because it's just, gah, gorgeous.
3. Lost: Still watching because damn it, I have to know. Not really loving it but I am enjoying it. Mostly.
4. Jack Johnson is coming back to NZ. Tickets are 70 bucks but he is so good live and I just bought his latest album and it's gorgeous. Gah. Decisions decisions.
5. On a whim I watched PoA again last night. Still fantastic. Not perfect by any means, but at times it hit just the right tone or the right look and I crumbled.
6. It's gone in my timezone but Happy Birthday Remus! I'm getting kind of excited now but I still have to do the much dreaded re-reading of OotP. *steels herself*
7.nuregwen's media community tinalikesstuff has some absolutely gorgeous hi-res shots of various celebrities that have been entrancing me today. (You have to join to see them.)
8. Need to work on LJ layout/new icons/new website layout. I am unsatisfied. As always.
