Yuletide letter 2022

Hi!

Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things!

To give you a broad picture of what I like in fic:

• slash, gen, het and OT3s


• fluffy and happy endings, but also love fics with bittersweet and open ended ones too


• political intrigue/spies/court politics


• epistolary or other format experiments (if you're feeling like it)


• banter and snark


• people finishing each others sentences, knowing each other's looks, generally knowing someone better than anyone else


• backstory


• PINING

Things I don't like so much:

• non-con or dub-con


• A/B/O


• humiliation/embarrassment


• stories that focus on pregnancy


• I like kidfic occasionally but I'm not really into it for the fandoms below tbh

I am absolutely fine with AUs, but probably in the case of the fandoms that I have asked for this year, I'd rather them be canon-divergent rather than anything really different.

Explicit fic is fine for some of these pairings (I'll add that under the cut).

The prompts below are just to give you a guide and help you along if you want it, if you have a great idea of your own I'd love to read it!

Emery Anden, Kaul La, Kaul Shae

Lan was my fave and so Jade City was a bit sad for me, but I really enjoyed his small interactions with Andy and Shae, and I just would like to see more of them. Whether that is the Kaul siblings growing up, or when Andy comes into their lives. Or even a scene from the fist part of jade City when Lan takes over and starts to struggle.

Of course feel free to include Hilo too, but these three are my faves.

I love this series so much and just want to see more of the world. Lan was my fave and we didn't get much time with him so I'd love to see any more, from whatever time period inspires you.

Or if Lan doesn't inspire you, I also love Shae and Andy and would also love to read something from their perspective, either about Lan or growing up as a Kaul or something else.

I like the politics of the world, whether the clan politics between the Kauls and The Mountain, or in the wider geopolitical sense, but don't feel you have to play up that angle if you don't want to.

Fandom specific DNWs: I'd happily read a canon-divergent AU (Lan lives! Or recovers slowly! Or something else happens after he dies!) but probably wouldn't want something that is a big departure form the world of the books.

I'm just dying to know some more backstory about the Ring of Brass. One of their earlier adventures that cements their connection, or focused on the backstory of one of the members, maybe how they all meet each other. Did any of them other than Patia grow up on Avalir? What was that like?

Please feel free to include Zerxus, Evandrin, Loquatious or Cerrit's family - I just had to choose 4.

Oh I loved this limited series so much - it was my first time with Brennan as DM and the way he handled it all was so good. I loved Avalir as a setting and the mageocracy, and would love to see more.

I just chose my 4 fave Ring of Brass members, but honestly anything with any of them would be great. How did they all meet? What big problems have they solved together? Or if you just want to write about one of their I am sure legendary dinners then that is totally fine too.

If you want to go somewhere shippier with Laerryn/Loquatious or Zerxus/Evandrian - that is cool too :)




High Roller:Aerois

Siaska (High Rollers), Kalus Starbane

I'll be honest, Kalus is one of my fave characters on the show. How Mark plays him, and how twisty and turny he is - and now does it look like he actually might listen to the Stormchasers?? So many questions.

When we found out what happened between Kalus and Siaska all those years ago, I was intrigued to learn even more. How their relationship developed, one of their I am sure many arguments as things were failing apart. Or maybe Kalus looking back on anything he may have regretted.

Feel free to include Vala too - but I am mostly curious to learn more about Kalus and Siaska.

What I have put above pretty much covers it all. I am just interested in seeing more behind the story of Kalus and Siaska. Something character focus-ed? Something more plotty? Both great.




Will Darling Adventures - KJ Charles

Kim Secretan (Will Darling Adventures), Will Darling (Will Darling Adventures), Daniel da Silva (Will Darling Adventures)

I read this series this year and loved it, and finally read Think of England last month, and I love Daniel as much as Will and Kim. I also read the short story where Kim and Will meet Archie and that was great, so feel free to include him, but always keen for when Kim and Daniel interact and Daniel rolls his eyes, but has a little soft spot for them.

Maybe a new adventure? A weekend away gone wrong? Kim takes Will to an incredibly stuffy party? They need to get information out of someone? I am open to it all.

Also: Daniel has a pierced belly button. I think Kim would melt down if he accidentally found that out and it would be fun to read about if that sounds like something you may want to write.

Again, what I've put above sort of covers it. I am fine with character things or plottier things, I just really like when Daniel turns up in Will and Kim's adventures, or maybe he has to get more involved than usual this time? But I am also fine if he just turns up as a nice cameo in their bigger adventure.

I am fine with explicit sex with this request, but just between Will and Kim.
