Yuletide letter 2021

Hi!

Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things!

To give you a broad picture of what I like in fic:

• slash, gen, het and OT3s


• fluffy and happy endings, but also love fics with bittersweet and open ended ones too


• political intrigue/spies/court politics


• epistolary or other format experiments (if you're feeling like it)


• banter and snark


• people finishing each others sentences, knowing each other's looks, generally knowing someone better than anyone else


• backstory


• PINING

Things I don't like so much:

• non-con or dub-con


• A/B/O


• humiliation/embarrassment


• stories that focus on pregnancy


• I like kidfic occasionally but I'm not really into it for the fandoms below tbh

I am absolutely fine with AUs. Canon divergent or something else. Modern? Fairytale? Space? Sports? All good.

Explicit fic is fine, but I'm not really after a PWP in these cases if possible.

The prompts below are just to give you a guide and help you along if you want it, if you have a great idea of your own I'd love to read it!

They're two of my faves and I'm intrigued by their friendship in the books - especially around the time of Bitterblue (the book) where it seems they’ve been hanging out a lot doing Council business. I'd love to see scenes from these missions, or how Giddon warms up to Po when he started off really disliking Po for being with Katsa.

I’m also interested in how Po’s secret reveal in Bitterblue (book) affected their relationship and how they patch it up.

Or maybe how Po reacts to Bitterblue and Giddon being together following Winterkeep?

More intended to be more of a friendship pairing but if you want to make it shippier that is also fine.

Feel free to include Katsa, Bitterblue and others from the books. I am more than happy if you want to just keep the canon pairings - I especially love Giddon/Bitterblue - but I am especially interested in how Giddon and Po get on with the other as we really don't see it much in the books, but clearly they do get on and have patched things up.

I have read Winterkeep so happy for events/characters to be referenced/used from that book as well.

I really enjoyed their BFF-ness in TLWTASAP and would love to see more. Whether that is all the way back to how they met, or one meting the other’s family (or Pei?) or hiring other members of the crew or another cool mission they’ve been on. Maybe they’ve been stranded somewhere?

Feel free to include mentions of Rosemary and Pei, this can be shippy if you want but the BFF vibes are more than fine.

I read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet a couple of months ago and loved it and the space found family vibes, and I especially loved Ashby and Sissix and their BFF-ness and I'd just love to see more of it. How they know each other so well, and know each other's boundaries and what they can get away with. Sissix seems to be able to say things and do things that the other members of the crew don't do with Ashby, and I love little details like that.

Feel free to include who you like from the crew. :)

I crave backstory! How did Ted and Beard meet? When did they start working together? What are some memorable times from their friendship?

Or just some scenes of them hanging out. Talking tactics, going on a journey, having a beer and the night takes an unexpected turn. Feel free to get a little weird with it.

I love the short-hand they have with each other and how they just seem to get each other. It’s so good.

Can be just friendship focused or a little shippy - whatever takes your fancy. :)

I've really enjoyed watching Ted Lasso this year and Beard is one my sneaky faves (although I love so many of the characters) - so I'd love more with him and Ted. As I said above, it can be backstory or just a few scenes from Richmond where they are getting used to the place and the UK-ness of it all.

If you want to do a weird fusion or AU here - go for it. I did really enjoy the randomness of Beard's night adventure episode.

Of course feel free to include other characters from the show.

Erend was one of my faves and I’d just be happy to read more about him. Backstory, stories from childhood growing up with Ersa, joining the Vanguard, what life is like in Oseram, working for Avad, his thoughts on meeting Aloy and the events of the game. I’m curious about it all.

Horizon Zero Dawn was one of my favourite games I played this year and the worldbuilding was so interesting and so cool, so I'd love to see more of it from Erend's POV or just with him in the central role. As I said above, this can be whenever you like in the timeline, and please include others from the game if you like.

I don't mind some shippy vibes with Aloy or Avad etc but straight-up gen is more than fine. Whatever you're feeling. :)
