TV. TV. TV
Feb. 12th, 2005 12:52 amAfter a few days where I’ve actually worked, I caught up on some TV this afternoon/evening.
The OC:
If I can just get the shallow out of the way. Cast so pretty; so very, very pretty.
Right, onto the actual content.
I liked it, quite a lot actually.
Admittedly I knew a lot of what was coming. Not the small details, but I knew Theresa lied to Ryan and I knew Seth and Ryan eventually went back. Yeah, spoiler free for this show is something that happens to other people.
Sandy was wonderful as always. I think Sandy/Kirsten is my OC OTP. While I like Summer/Seth and Seth/Ryan for that matter, Sandy/Kirsten is just, yeah, much love. Peter Gallagher and Kelly Rowan have some great chemistry and it woks really well on screen.
Ryan was also wonderful. Just the little looks that Ben Mackenzie does. So cooland so hot.
Seth was mostly okay. I thought he was being a little harsh. I mean, I understood where he was coming from, but I think especially with the phone call with Kirsten he was pushing things a little too far. However, in the end with the bits with Ryan, he won through.
I almost didn’t completely dislike Marissa, and then came to my senses when she threw her poolside fit. She was actually, apart from Caleb, which I think is nearly a given, the only character I actively disliked all episode. Seth had a couple of rough moments but in the end, he was fine.
Cast so pretty.
Lost:
Yeah, it’s growing on me. I was still a little picky when I watched it, but I must admit, I did enjoy it.
Locke still has me very intrigued. The bit with Walt’s dog was so cool though. I have a little bit of a fear of an ulterior motive, but only a little.
I quite liked Kate’s backstory. However, damn it Jack, you might want to know what she did, but I sure as hell do! I was worried she killed the sheep farmer but happily she didn’t.
Still a lot of love for Charlie, Sayid and Hurley. Sawyer, I must admit, gets a big fat ‘eh’ from me.
And in something that’s not really a shock at all, I’m still a sucker for a musical montage. The one they had in this ep I really liked. Just the little moments, Shannon’s sunglasses etc, really worked.
And while I don’t have any specific comments, I still love Firefly. I’m kind of tempted by fic, but I want to try and avoid spoilers. I’m going to see if I can go spoiler free for this show, see how it works out. It might be a trend because I've also managed to successfully avoid Lost spoilers too. It's a very show dependent trend though.
Also, Spooks is back on Tuesday. *dances* It's going to clash with Arrested Development though, which is sad.
In the midst of the recs page update from Hell. I need to do this more often because the amount of bookmarks I have in the ‘Pending Recs’ folder is just ridiculous. Either I read too much fic, or don’t have discerning enough criteria for the fics I want to rec. Probably both.
I’ve also been trying to bring some greater order to my quotes files (there are several, all huge and not that well organised) and it’s been cool reliving some of the great moments from books I’ve enjoyed. I just went back and re-read all the relevant sections of David Eddings’s Elenium and Tamuli series, because my love for Vanion/Sephrenia came back with a vengeance. Love them. Those books, as well as David Eddings's other series, were the books of my early teenage years. I must have read all of them at least 5 times over, probably more.
