I have some complicated feelings about this episode.
It was billed as being filled with answers and it was in a way, but um, not as much as I had hoped. Don't get me wrong I loved the insight into September and his 'universe' room was awesome, but I was hoping for something a bit more. So, they don't have an agenda? Or they do and we just haven't seen that yet? Still so many questions.
Olivia and her superpowers forever and ever. Damn she's awesome, and that was quite the 'blowing up the room' display.
However, then we get to the end. Yeah. I don't know how I feel about that. While I applaud Peter's cautiousness it does take something away from his whole, 'I see in your eyes you're my Olivia' moment last week and just made it seem like, 'oh good job Peter making another mistake again and hurting Olivia.' Certainly not as bad as S3 but still. I suppose by showing Henry in the Universe Room they were going, 'look what happened the last time you made this mistake, Peter' but, but argh. I don't know whether to hope if he's right or wrong? Or just ... yeah.
I said when I posted about last week's ep, 'I don't know if I'd be able to take it if Peter was wrong again.' .... :(
However, I will say serious props to Josh on all the feelings faces, especially when he was shown Henry. *sniff* So well done, and him and Anna at the end. Gah. 'I'm in love with you and I can't just turn that off - I don't want to lose you.' Oy. Her face. His face. All the feelings.
WHY CAN'T THEY ALL BE HAPPY?!
Random other thoughts:
- So, um all Ninas are evil? Or Amber!Nina was just clueless to what was going on?
- I'm actually starting to dislike this Lincoln a little and that makes me sad. Dude. It was not the time to be snarky at Peter. Come back Alt!Lincoln.
- September's appearance was nicely done like, 'woah hi there random Observer.'
- Clearly they use the same super awesome amazing facial recognition software as they do on H50. :p
- It always bugs me when you can really clearly tell what dialogue they had to do again in ADR. Fringe makes it really obvious sometimes and it drags me out of the moment.
Undecided about whether to see Ides of March or Moneyball tomorrow. Maybe. But I do also need to do some things that I avoided today. *sigh* Today I queued up for $20 Arts Festival tickets and went to an interesting theatre show that was kind of an adaption of Hamlet - and kind of about performing Hamlet. Also, there was a Great Dane.
On a total The National kick at the moment. Bought some more of their songs this morning. So good. I was also looking through YT clips and this version of Mr. November (favourite song) is interesting if only for the fact that Matt Berninger manages to keep singing while being fall-down drunk. Literally. He falls down.
