SAG Awards
Feb. 6th, 2005 06:26 pmOkay, did I just read the SAG winners list correctly?
Awards
CSI won Best Drama Ensemble for S4?
Jennifer Garner won for S3 Alias?
Wow. They like their suprises. I mean, I still like CSI, and I really like Jennifer Garner, but both of those are pretty out of left field. This is bearing in mind that all I have to go on is fan reaction to S3 of Alias, which wasn't that great to say the least. I mean, Jennifer Garner's a great actress, but for S3? In regards to CSI, I saw a bit of S4 and it was okay, but not really award worthy in my opinion. I mean, they've deserved something all these years and the actors are very good, but I in no way expected them to win this year. Lack of real competition perhaps?
I'm happy for both but also a little puzzled. I think they deserve the recognition, but for this particular year? Interesting.
Very happy to see Morgan Freeman one though. :D Haven't seen the movie, but love Morgan Freeman.
Jamie Foxx. Hillary Swank. Yeah, saw that coming.
Yay Geoffrey Rush.
Jason Bateman lost. Damn.
Cate Blanchett was a suprise, but I haven't seen the movie, so can't really comment.
Sideways getting a nod was also good, but again, haven't seen the movie. I've been hearing it's fantastic though.
Dude. I never even realised James Garner got nominated for The Notebook. Wow. His performance was very good, but that whole movie. *shudders*
Also, I really liked Jerry Orbach, and I think he was a great actor, but giving him the award this year smacks a little bit of them just giving it to him because he died. I mean, I'm all about recognising the guy, but was his performance this year better thanALP all the other nominees? I'm not arguing that he didn't deserve to be nominated, he's been nominated before, and like I said, great actor, but to win? Maybe it's just me being a bitch?
Reuters has it too. I read it correctly. Hmmm. This is an interesting list.
Fashion wise:
Based on pictures from Yahoo and Getty.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I just don't get it.
Denise Richards: Looking quite demure. It's a little frightening.
Cate Blanchett: Simple. Classy. Gorgeous.
Johnny Depp: I quite like the hair and black is always good.
Nicolette Sheridan: I have no idea who she is, I think she might be on Desperate Housewives. But, that dress? Just, NO.
Jennifer Garner: Okay, now I've had a better look at it, it's not as bad as I thought, but it's not good. I think it's the sleeves, and maybe the colour as well. :p
Kate Winslet: Pretty. Very pretty.
Jorja Fox: Looks really, really good.
Kristin Davis: Looks very nice.
Ellen Degeneres: I must admit I like her pants suits and the black does suit her.
Lauren Ambrose: Pretty.
John Spencer: *loves* He's always so smiley on red carpets. You can't help but smile back.
Mena Suvari: Hmmm. I'm unusre. The hair is interesting.
Also, CSI seems to be sucking me back in. I'm so easy. After two average seasons of me not really caring, along comes oneshippy good ep (which I've only seen clips of) and I start caring again. I even broke out the S1 DVDs yesterday. I haven't watched them in ages.
Bond movie news. I'm still bitter they chucked Brosnan as Bond.
New season of Top Gear starts tonight. : D
Other than that it's all very ... blah. I'll get over it.
