*sigh*
Looking at the general reaction, most people seem to have been okay with this episode, but I still felt a little eh about it, but yay Kono is back! And she was awesome! And looking out for the team. <3
Steve was back to being pissy - but not quite as much of a jerk as I feared. They played up his guilty feelings and his and Danny's faces when they brought her in and while she was undercover made up for something. And I'd just like to call misdirected anger in the interrogation scene. The punch was awesome too (and if I totally imagined he was punching Tom Sizemore rather than his character, that's okay right?)
If you were a Steve/Kono 'shipper you'd be feeling okay right now as well. I'm in a position where I could be convinced. It is a pretty thought.
Although, Chin and Kono both sort of apologised to Steve, which um, I don't think they really needed to do at all. Steve would absolutely pull similar shit. I mean, Steve is my favourite, but the dude is not infallible or perfect.
Chin = all the awesome. DDK rocks too.
Alex does too actually. Dude has some talent there, well that and an awesome pair of puppy dog eyes.
DDK's face in that scene with Lori was a thing of beauty, and his face when he said, 'you're a lot like Steve, you know that?' - with a look a mild horror. Apart from that ...that scene was a little odd, but on a re-watch not quite as weird as it was the first time around. Not quite sure what they were trying to achieve with it.
Steve and Danny actually spent some time together! A lot of exposition time but there were some cute moments like when Steve had to correct himself about Danny being shot, and their shared desire to kill anyone who would take photos of Grace. Aw. That could be the worst Meet the Parents ever. Jersey cop, Navy SEAL.
Other than that though, this episode did seem a little Danny light. Sadness.
Next week's promo looks sort of amazing. Matching t-shirts! <3
I also went to see The Three Musketeers tonight.
Oh god it was stupid! And long. Stupidly long. And blatantly set up for a sequel.
But there were good things:
- Matthew MacFadyen as Athos. Oh, you were too good for this movie but I'm so glad you were in it. Awesome. Worth the price of admission ... well if you like Matthew as much as I do.
- Christoph Waltz as the Cardinal. Although I did expect him to be vanquished at the end but uh, not so much.
- In fact the acting in general wasn't too bad, even Orlando was surprisingly okay as Buckingham. Hammy, but hey the part called for it.
- The King started off a little annoying but by the end he was sort of cute.
- Gabriella Wilde who played Constance is gorgeous.
- The airships were pretty cool - but wow that last battle went on too long.
And yes I did just see them skewer an airship on Notre Dame and then crash another, didn't I? Of course I did.
I don't regret seeing it at all - like I said I loved Matthew as Athos - but it really was pretty ridiculous, mostly for plot and overpowering CGI reasons, but anyone who saw the trailer is unlikely to find that surprising. ;)
Were there other things? There might have been other things. Still cautious about positive job news. We will see. We will see.
My stuff should be arriving on Saturday. Yay for books and DVDs and everything in one place. Now I just need to sort out well, a bed. Fun times.
