All the tv returns! All the tv.
Sep. 27th, 2011 11:08 pmI liked it. It was a little slow, but I guess that was by design. I also have so, so many questions about the new timeline. So many questions. Like, the swap over clearly happened? How? Why did Olivia cross-over? Is Charlie dead? Yes ... questions. So many.
They really didn't lose an opportunity to tell you Olivia was alone though and emphasise what was missing, which is fair, I guess, but it felt almost a little too much. People should clearly have never worried that much that Peter was going to be missing from the show. He's very much still there in spirit, so to speak.
Anna Torv, your acting in the scenes with both Olivias was awesome.
I love all Lincolns though - he was great.
I loved Walter and Olivia's closer relationship.
September, you and all your feelings. <3
JFLAN! There wasn't enough of him tbh, but what there was, was great.
And clearly I loved the little glimpses of Peter. Gene saw him!
This show is ridiculous.
Just to get it out of the way. "You look good, babe." "C'mon GQ ... " - these two! And Danny's shoulder touch! And they had a cargument on horseback! I also think the 'Sgt Slaughter' scene was my favourite scene of the episode. Danny's comments, Steve's fond smile at Danny, CHIN's FACES (DDK you are perfect) and finally, "I can't guarantee that." Oh, Steven. <3
I liked Lori on the whole. I thought the 'physical education' line was a little clumsy (implying she slept around a lot? mb?) and when they said they weren't playing up the love interest thing - well, they kinda did. A little. But like I said, I liked her. "How long have you been married?" - love.
"Our new partner." - that did make me pull a face though.
Jenna, Jenna. I think she's having her fiance' held over her head. I think making her the bad guy would be a little interesting, but from the look on her face when she hugged Steve, she looked way guilty. Also, that hug was adorable. Adorable. But then I've always loved their relationship. Vengeance twins activate! She's also got to the point where she won't put up with Steve's shit either. Love.
Also, that screen said 'Cmdr Steven J McGarrett.' Steve's a Lt Commander, isn't he?
Of course Steve graduated top of his class. Of course he did. And the bastard totally did a science degree from that comment to Lori about her degree. Steve the Science Guy, after all. As awesome as this information is I still want more. Was he on the Navy football team? What was his major? ... yeah, I love backstory, this is not news.
Something really bothered me about Kono's storyline and
Shallow: the suit, the jeans, the horse-back action sequence. All awesome. That shirt at the end though was something else entirely. Why?! They clearly tried some new Steve wardrobe here.
Also, hi DDK in the leather jacket. That can definitely come back.
Lauren is pretty, it's true.
Next week's featured action sequence in the promo looks insane.
As for the season premiere of Community. It was fine. There were some funny moments, and ones that I don't think hit as well, but I don't think I loved the opener of S2 either. I'm still happy to have it back.
I can already see The Good Wife sliding - I'm going to have to marathon it at a later date, I think.
In non-TV news, still flat-less. Have moved from one friend's house to another, this one a bit further out of town and I'll need to bus to work. That will serve to motivate me to finding a flat quicker I think. I'm incredibly grateful to my friend, but yeah, I'm too used to just walking everywhere in Wellington.
