I managed to not be a complete freaked out mess by the time I watched this. Avoiding Tumblr, an awesome Commuity ep and beer all helped:

Soooo .... holy fuck.

I admit to being spoiled for a bit of it (although clearly not all of it - because holy fuck) and figuring out that Olivia died in the future, so it may have not delivered all of its punches (although I did not pick she'd get shot in the head - ouch) ... but oh there were still a few. Like that ending. God. I may have just lulled myself into a false sense of security where Peter was involved but .... he never existed?! Ouch. Although as the tweets from Jeff and Joel have already said ... Josh still has a contract and he is "somewhere" - I imagine him floating around somewhere. Observer World? (Bring your own fedora and hot sauce - no eyebrows allowed).

I like to amuse myself by thinking on the last page of Josh's copy of the script there was a post it with 'DON'T PANIC - you still have a job' - or something like that. ;) Also he always goes on in interviews how Fringe means he doesn't have to cry all the time like in DC - um, sorry dude. That run just came to an end. :p

Also um, what does this mean for baby Henry? Not good things. Was he just a plot device - or will he be returning as well? And what else does it change? A lot of the motivations on the show were centred around Peter ... what happens when he's not there? Does that change the people involved? Are Walter and Olivia different because Peter never existed? I mean, clearly on some level they must be ... but how different?

I picked they were going to screw with Peter and Olivia, but with the 'shipper hat on, I think I almost prefer this to being on the other side with Triangle Drama. Also it's going to be interesting for the Olivias ... and the Walters ... Walter didn't steal Walternate's son .... AltLivia never slept with Peter ... just W. T. F. And oh god if he comes back and they don't remember ... that is going to suck so hard for him.

The Fringe writers have given themselves a hell of job to explain how we're at this point without Peter. He was a lot of the plot. So many things happened because of him. And uh how do they think they got to that room ... and are there still the documents with the machine .... which show some random dude? They basically have to re-write this side's history without Peter ... next season is going to be such a mindfuck and to be honest, could be amazing or could ... crash and burn. Gutsy as ever, guys.

The ep as a whole did feel a little weird. I heard they had a much longer version - which I'd love to see.

Loved both the Peter and Walter scene, and the Peter and Walternate one. "You're my dad." <3!!! Also, most poignant red vine eating ever. Also love that they stripped the score from Peter and Walternate.

Peter and Olivia - still cute. Smiiillles. And damn right he cooks. ;) I was so happy they were still happy and the face touches and the shoulder kiss ... cuteness.

I was a little gutted they played music over the eulogy - but it was moving, and a pyre! I don't know why but I love the visual image and just idea of a pyre. I think it traces back to the Illiad. Also, it's a heroes kind of act - and damn right Olivia's a hero.

Your wishes for Superpowered Olivia Dunham = granted. Telekinesis not pyro powers - but hey it's something.

Not sold on Ella and Emily Meade - but I did love her scene with Walter.

Astrid's hair was funky - I liked it.

Astrid and Peter - working together like Walter and Astrid.

Swivel chairs!

Also, hi there BSG opera house! if it's not, it's uncannily similar.

It's odd too - Fringe doesn't make me cry. I get apprehensive and I care, a lot, about the characters but I never cry. I think I may have been slightly sniffly in 'Peter' but ... its odd. It's clearly not the performances. I'm not sure why some shows make me cry more than others - for example Dr Who (RTD era) made me sob.

So ... next season is soon, right? *sigh*

I may not be responsible for my actions when I see the first 'I hope Peter never comes back' post - and there will be, oh there will be. (It took, well till I visisted ONTD - which isn't surprising, there really is a reason I don't usually read the Fringe posts there. Also see: the fringe tag on Tumblr. Just, no).

I think I'll do a season overview or my season thoughts later - but for now. Well played, show, damn well played. I love you, so very much.

And talking of the awesomeness of Community:

I loved that so much. Just, delightful.

OMG evil icecream cone!

Great alternate credits. So great.

"Yeah? And I want pants. A lot of people want a lot of things.

"My forehead's not that big, right?" "It's not small."

Also, how awesome (and hot omg) was Alison Brie? I'm not always Annie's biggest fan, but she was so great in this.

And Josh Holloway was great, as was Jeff's constant worrying over who was hotter ... I'd say Jeff, but not by a lot, personally. :p

Can't wait for the conclusion.

Anyway, I need coffee and then, then sadly I need to tidy my room in an insane way. I'm moving out in three weeks and I have to sort out what I want to ship home, what I want to chuck, and it needs to be in a state where prospective flatmates can see the room. Fun afternoon planned.

My friends are moving out of the flat today too. This really feels like things are drawing to a close. *sigh* Not ready to deal with this yet.

OH THANK GOD. I so did not see that final twist coming.

Also, I was not ready to part with everyone from the alt!verse.
