It's been a weird/busy/insane week. AO3 testing (new code is live!), really sad news from New Zealand, Buzzcocks filming, LCD Soundsystem/Hot Chip concert in new and exciting parts of North London and then a girls night in last night. Oy.

Last night it was pizza, the house to myself and well, this:

So, that was awesome. I was a little worried it wouldn't be, but I loved it.

On the whole, I liked AltLivia far more here than I have at any point this season. The scene with Peter at the start was just incredibly cute. Like OMG levels of cute. I know it's a different Olivia and I didn't want to find it so cute, but in terms of Josh and Anna chemistry, it's right up there with 'Jacksonville' and the bar scene in 1x10 in my mind.

(Also, just randomly, Josh sells loved up so well. He's had a lot of practice on DC I guess, but acting aside, it does make me incredibly jealous of Diane Kruger, because if he's even a little bit like that in real life - which if you've seen photos of them I think there's grounds to support - dude, there aren't enough hearts in the world).

I also loved that we genuinely got to see her conflicted, both when talking to Shapeshifter Dude and then with Peter. And she brought Walter baked goods!

However, I have to say, the hug thing and her being upset at the Shapeshifter Dude's death was so obviously not Olivia, Peter. *shakes head* But going from the promo, I'd say he's not going to be under too many allusions much longer. ;) Can't wait to see how that plays out.

I loved Peter is this too actually, blindness to AltLivia aside. Loved this answer to her question. It was a little Power of Positive Thinking but I liked it all the same. "There's gotta be another way" indeed.

I was also happy to see some Peter and Walter conflict and snark. ("If this time you end up breaking the universe its on your head." <3) I loved Nina getting involved, and I hope that Walter coming around isn't the end of it, but to be honest I doubt it will be. Peter has got to be still carrying some 'Walter lied to me' baggage there. Has to be. Which he will eventually get to add 'Olivia isn't the right Olivia' baggage too as well. Lucky bastard. ;)

He's being blind, yes, and I do have issues with the plot making him stupid to suit its own ends. It certainly wouldn't have been my first choice of ways to deal with the switch, but to be honest, it hasn't been as bad as I'd feared. I reserve the right to take this all back.

Astrid got to be all code-breaky-y and awesome! <3 I loved her so much in this.

Those were totally Stargate uniforms in the float-y box scene.

As for the whole 'First People/Vacuum' thing. I'm going to have to watch again I think. It was a lot to take in in one ep. I'm intrigued though. Yes. And did Walternate plant the pieces? Or were they there all along ... but he was sending the code, wasn't he? Hmmm. Lots of think about.

Olivia at the end! Oh, this is going to be fun to watch. (Although Stern!Peter really isn't the best kind of Peter).

Land of the Superficial: Josh looked so good throughout basically this entire episode. Pajama pants! Good dark jacket! Grey t-shirt untucked! Smiling! Looks of adoration!

Also, hi Anna Torv in a leather jacket.

Current S3 episode ranking:

1. The Plateau
2. Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep? (just, almost purely on the strength of Newton and the Shapeshifter Dad/kid B plot)
3. 6995 kHz
4. Olivia
5. The Box
6. Amber 3165

In conclusion, as ever: this show!! <3

*plugs fingers in ears at any mention of ratings*

Random other things of awesome:

1. Rosario was on the Daily Show!! And was flirting with Jon. I <3 her.

2. Jon was interviewed by Rachel Maddow for basically her whole show. Really, really interesting interview, and I love their mutual respect and like for one another. It's all sorts of cute, intelligent and interesting.

3. Jon Hamm being adorable on Conan.

4. Daniel Racliffe reciting all the element on the periodic table on Graham Norton. Seriously. <3

Fic rec:

In the course of OMG Testing this week I discovered this awesome Fringe/Inception crossover. Eames, Arthur, Yusuf and Ariadne are people Peter has worked with the past, and it's so well done. Also, a little bit of Peter/Eames which really does work.

Also, I seem to have developed a thing for Peter/Olivia domestic scenes. Yeah, I know. Relatedly, I guess I pretty much am a Peter/Olivia 'shipper at this point.
