So, um, that was interesting.
I found the first twenty minutes a little bit meh (o hai another space station episode), and thought for a little bit that we were really going to watch twenty minutes of people slowly dying on Mars and then, wow, hi Doctor's ego. Seriously.
I'm mostly impressed they went there. Things had been leading up to this, and it's a logical progression. I am a little surprised how far they went there. The Doctor really was a dick right there, but the realisation that he may have gone too far this time was really interesting.
Adelaide was awesome. I really liked her, and I thought the conversation she and the Doctor had in the middle of the episode was so well done, as well as the little moment in the air-lock, and hell, also the conversation at the end. Well played, RTD.
The moment where the German woman (whose name escapes me this second) turned, when she watched her kids on the screen, was also quite heart-wrenching.
They also tied in the little moments from the last season, with Pompeii and the little mentions, and the Ood showing up. Very cool.
DT does the quiet moments better than the loud shout-y ones though. He actually made me laugh the first time he did the shout-y thing in this ep.
Overall: Interesting. I thought some of it was really well done, and I'm intrigued where they're going to take it. I'm looking forward to reading other people's thoughts on it.
Also Aussie guy was from White Collar Blue (and all manner of other things I found out after checking IMDB), I liked him quite a lot in that.

I also have random Bones thoughts after catching up on the last few eps:
While the the museum ep was okay, I really enjoyed the chicken one.
Wendell! <3 He is my favourite of the lab assistants by a long way (although I do quite like Mr Nigel-Murray as well) and I really like his interaction with Hodgins. (Mmm, I would slash it). I like how he's getting more characterization and I do hope he becomes a more permanent character. I did not see the Angela thing coming ... but, I kinda like it, although I will be interested when Hodgins finds out ... that could be interesting.
Booth and Brennan remain adorable. <3
Yuletide assignments came out! Eep. I got one of my 'Any' fandoms, but the characters I've got are some of my favourites, so I'm happy to be writing about them.

Now there's new White Collar, and probably Merlin, and I need to catch up on the Daily Show, and talking about Bones has made me feel like watching that a little. My life, so hard. So much TV.
