So, that was underwhelming, with a side of WTF at the end.

I wouldn't say it was bad persay, as there was quite a few moments I liked. But I was expecting something more epic.

I took notes as I went and there's a lot of 'Saaaam' and 'Hoooyt' - there were easily the high points of this ep. Sam back story! That is one thing I am looking forward to next season.

The scene between Eric and the Queen was not nearly as cool as I'd been hoping looking at the preview. It wasn't bad, and Eric playing Yahtzee was amusing. I was glad to hear that Eric was selling blood on the Queen's behalf, but fuck if I know why she is selling in the first place. It was also interesting watching him be all obedient, but I suppose we have seen in the past that he does obey and respect the vampire order of things. I really did expect him to help in Bon Temps ... or something to come of that scene, but nothing did. *sigh* Definitely not enough Eric.

And WTF was with the last ten minutes. I knew Eggs was a goner, but seriously, why did Jason shoot him? I did not get that. At all. I mean, just, what? *sigh*

And then there was the restaurant/proposal. My thoughts can be summed up in this awesome quote from the A.V Club True Blood recap:

Sookie's box from a secret admirer was interesting until it turned out to be Bill, and once we realize the restaurant has been rented out, well, it was just a matter of waiting for the harm to come. The marriage proposal scene did make me laugh--mainly for Bill's dumbfounded "What?" cutting through Sookie's gibberish/season recap. Exactly!

Exactly! I assumed that box was from Eric (wishful thinking perhaps just to see more Eric) and oh god I hate marriage proposals as plot devices. Hate them. The minute I thought Sookie was going to say no was awesome though.

Was it Eric that kidnapped Bill? Part of me wants it to be because that would be bad-ass, but part of me doesn't and thinks that's what we're supposed to think happened to him. I like my Eric slightly more nuanced personally, but we'll see what happens. I will probably be watching. Damn you, Skarsgard ... and actually Sam (Trammell or Merlotte), it's time I blamed you for this too.

Random:

"That blows" - Yes, sweetheart it did. *eye roll* I did like Alex's reaction's though. He looked a little more vulnerable and sort of swallowed. Still hurting, I think.

"What the hell is with the egg?!" Yes, thank you, Sookie. And did we actually get an answer to that? Sigh.

Lafayette's comment at the end was awesome.

"Yep, pretty sure he's dead." Okay, Arlene kidlets, that was cute.

However, that bar scene went on forever.

Jessica's little scenes rocked too. I am intrigued by what's going on with her. Poor Hoyt leaving the flowers at the door.

After first listen through of The Resistance: I like most of it, but it needs more epic guitars. However, I love "Unnatural Selection", "United States of Eurasia" has totally grown on me and "Exogenesis" is damn cool.

John Simm is doing a play in London for the next couple of months! Must go.

Daily Show is back! <3
