It's been a very blah day, so I am self-medicating with Ben and Jerry's (who are awesome btw). I was going to try another flavour, but I ended up with Cookie Dough again. Nom. This container is far emptier than I would like to admit.
I think I'm going to check out Oxford tomorrow. It's easy to do as a day trip, I've wanted to go since I was a little kid, and I just need to get out of the house and not just for a walk to the supermarket/run (yes, really, sort of) through the Common.
In a similar vein, I also bought a ticket for Kevin Smith's Q&A in October because I really wanted to go, life's too short and it's cheaper than flying somewhere to see Muse (which will have to wait until I have a job of some sort sadly).

Times I've watched the whole episode: 1-ish
Times I've watched the Eric scenes: um, significantly more than that
I definitely preferred last week, this ep just seemed very ho hum. Although I have read that they may have been by Alan Ball's design than crappy writing.
However, Eric and Pam were all sort of awesome, if in Eric's case, just a teeny bit creepy. They get their own little list of win.
- "Tea cup humnas." *g*
- Sam and Eric sharing another scene.
- Pam's eye roll!
- "That thing owes me a new pair of shoes"
- Eric's grin after Pam bitched about the smell of the kids.
- Winking and flying!
- Mussed up hair!
- "Oh, Billy" (just the way ASkars said it, I am in no way for Bill/Eric *shudder*)
- That suit. Guh.
Although, saying all that, while ASkars sold it, I do think Eric's scenes were a little all over the place. I didn't get what they were trying to do with him, is he messed up post-Godric? Is that why he seems a little unhinged? Why is he selling V? And is Bill right about his motivations in saving the town or was he going to see Sophie-Anne anyway? And this is a small point and apart from aesthetic reasons, which I completely understand, why exactly was he lounging like that? That just didn't look natural.
So, uh, the rest of the show? Layfayette, Hoyt, Jessica and Sam are awesome. Everyone else is significantly less so. Although, I did like Sophie-Anne. I saw some people complaining about ERW's acting, but I thought it was fine and her character was intriguing. However, just to say again, Eric and Bill should not fuck. Ugh. I am not at all anti-slash on this show (Eric/Godric, Eric/Lafayette, hi) but just not those two, Bill irritates me far too much.
(However, I did see a clip of Stephen Moyer in Ultraviolet on YouTube, and um, he's good, and it has Jack Davenport and Idris Alba in it and I need to find it).

I've been mostly ignoring mention of new season shows, but I caught this clip of the new ABC show Flash Forward which stars John Cho and Joesph Fiennes (!). Joseph, who I had a ridiculous crush on at 16 due to Elizabeth and seeing him play Robert Dudely (who I also have/had a historical crush on) and who I used to look for internet news on all the time! I mean, yes, Joseph Fiennes, cool. I'm intrigued, even if Joesph's accent is throwing me off a little as I keep expecting him to talk with a British accent. I'm easily thrown by that, and I think non-US actors trying to pull off the accent can overdo it (especially if it's southern, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and to a lesser extent Ryan Kwanten) but it can also be done well (Hugh Laurie). Not sure where Joseph sits at this stage.
Seeing District 9 in the weekend!
