So, I'm back from Melbourne. I have not really gone near the flist. I'm kinda scared to at this point, but I might make some sort of start tomorrow. In pieces. I have however procured what I have missed TV wise, including the Colbert Christmas special, which was awesome.

Overall, it was a fun five days. The weather could have been better but I enjoyed catching up with friends and seeing a new place.

It's kinda flat and grid-like, sort of like my hometown Christchurch but waaay bigger and with much more going on and a cool art-y vibe in places. Fitzroy and Brunswick St/Smith St were a highlight, I was hoping to get back there but never quite made it on the Tuesday.

Minotaur on Elizabeth St is geek heaven. Well, close to it. Sadly even in Melbourne there are still no John Sheppard and Rodney McKay action figures. :( I picked up a much more compact paperback version of 'Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell' than I've seen in New Zealand, and a Serenity shot glass, as I felt I had to pick up something else, and I just couldn't decide.

I nearly ended up with a new iPod dock and digital camera (poor thing seems to be dying) but I refrained. I did however pick up 'Labyrinth' on DVD for $10 because it was playing in the store and I really should have owned it already.

However, I can say that flying Air New Zealand was an excellent decision. Free food and drink first off, and also on the flight back we got an Airbus with the new entertainment screens. <3 So much to choose from! I ended up watching the firs two episodes of 'Ashes to Ashes' (I liked it a lot, Gene <3) and an episode of 'Top Gear.'

Also, Kings of Leon's "Sex on Fire" was stalking us as we heard it everywhere. I think the song might be in some danger of overplay, which kinda sucks, as it's a good song.

NZ need to get Japanese vegetable pancakes and long-ish sushi rolls you can eat like a snack. I saw them in Brisbane and saw them again this week, and OMG need them here.

I'm happy and sad to be back, but I've had a day to get used to it now. Work tomorrow. Joy.
