I love something-happens.com, yes I do.
May. 11th, 2006 09:13 pmSo, those clips I was wanting to see? I've seen them.
Overall ... damn I love this show, but I shall deal with the scenes individually.
Dream sequence:
Much, much love. Rob Thomas does AU and personally I thought it was fascinating. A Duncan who still thinks Veronica is his sister, a Logan who broke up with Lily the day of the car wash and a Wallace who never met Veronica. Just, yeah, fascinating. The differences in Veronica, in everyone, they're still them ... but really not. It was very well done. I do have to say though that Logan saying 'sweetie' in anything other than a completely sarcastic tone is pretty hilarious. I think they may have gone too far with him, but hey it was a two second moment, so way to overanalyze, self. Lamb dressing up as the crime-fighting dog. Fucking Classic.
Graduation Scene:
Oh, Weevil. My heart broke. Loved the scene between Veronica and Clemmons though. As many others have said before me, a little reminiscent of 'Class Protector'.
Aaron and Veronica in the Elevator:
*shiver* Damn Harry Hamlin just creeped me out all over again. I have to say though that the end was kind of runied, and this might just be the audio on the clip, by the background music getting a little too loud over his confession. Very creepy though.
Rooftop Scene:
Well ... what to say. My heart was in my mouth and I knew what was coming. I bought it, mostly. There are still some issues there with Beaver but it mostly worked. I almost thought it might have been in character for Logan to shoot him, especially after hearing about the rape, but he wanted to comfort her more than he wanted revenge, that's love right there, because Logan has been all about revenge all this season and to see him not do it was ... pretty damn cool. Mac at the end though. Oh, Mac, honey. My heart broke again. I would love, love if she came back as a regular.
The acting totally rocked in that scene though. Kyle Gallner was peretty awesome, JD's reaction shot as Beaver jumped, just, broke me and KB rocked as she always does.
Aftermath:
Logan and Veronica just lying there was pretty affecting and the flashback with Veronica and Keith was very well done. It did intrigue me why Logan left. On the TwoP boards it was suggested that he wanted to give them space, but I'm not so sure. Seeing a happy father moment would have been pretty emotional for Logan knowing what his father isn't. I originally thought it might have had something to do with the fact that Veronica and he had both lost father's that night, and Veronica got hers back, which meant that it wasn't something they shared anymore, but I don't think Logan would have found out about Aaron until later. Hmm, I am perhaps overthinking it.
Keith and Veronica's relationship continued with it's awesomeness. Much, much love.
As for the office scene, ah, the cute. I think I got the feel of time having passed a little bit, at least a couple of days, which means the L/V make-out wasn't as jarring as some people seemed to think. Veronica and Keith were also very cute and the ending did leave me going 'hmmm' just like RT said it would.
I still don't know how I feel about the L/V ending. I mean the 'shipper in me is throwing a party and eee, they're happy! Happy! Logan and Veronica are happy together! I didn't know how much I wanted to see it till I saw them with the little smiles. Logan's after Veronica's comment about her Dad 'not carrying around much cash' especially. Eeee. However, I just hope they aren't doomed to fail yet again, but Veronica said everything would be fine, so that pretty much means it won't be, and yeah, this is noir. Just a couple of eps though, or something. Please? I know they're pretty when they angst, but they're pretty when they make-out and snark at each other in between too.
I also loved the 'young love' callback to the first ep of this season.
So, yeah. Loved and adored what I saw. I wasn't too choked up watching them through the first few times, still a little bit too 'heart in mouth' but now, I'm actually quite emotional about it. I really do love these characters and this show.
I'll be interested to see what my impression will be once I have seen through the whole season though.
I do agree with
eolivet though. If the show did end on this note. I think I'd be totally okay with it. I mean, I really, really, really want it to get a third season but if CW decide against it, it ended on a nice note. Logan and Veronica and Keith were happy ... and I keep coming back to that. To see such a genuinely happy scene in this show, and this ep which was full of pain ... it obviosuly really got to me, Wow.
So, yeah. Feeling pretty awesome right now. More emotional than I thought I would, but awesome. It's kind of sad that TV clips have this kind of effect on me, but I wouldn't change it.
