Moving? What is this 'moving'?
Nov. 25th, 2005 02:02 amSo, I'm back from Wellington. I've actually been back for four days now and I kept meaning to post and just never quite got there.
I was sorry to go in the end. The last couple of days were a little lonely but I love the city and I will be moving there sometime early next year. I love Christchurch but I feel like there's nothing really here for me anymore, in a 'career' or even 'me' progressing sense anyway. There are of course friends and family who I will be very sorry to leave, but I think I have to do this.

I wrote these such a long time ago now but I've had them open in Semgaic for ages and I thought I might as well post them since they're already typed up:
Jonathon Taylor Thomas as the ATF agent was one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've seen in quite some time. I will freely admit, I did have a bit of a crush on him ages ago, and I still think he's kinda cute but wow, he looked 15! Even dressed up in the suit! *rolls*
Logan punches people for her. <3 The kiss did seem to come a bit out of nowhere, but the more I thought about it, I did kind of see it. Veronica was there when Logan needed her with his Mum (or Mom) and Logan tonight, was there for her. He must on some level approve of what she's doing with Lily, or realise that she's doing it for Lily. Or something. Wow. It's nice and complicated. And angsty, oh so angsty. Logan or Veronica aren't really the happy endings type, however much you might want them to be.
Case of the Week: Another pretty easy one to pick. They set someone up as the obvious choice, and it's not them. However, I did like the part Joey Lauren Adams played. I didn't really like her at the start but by the end when she was forced out, I felt for her.
Duncan ... kinda intrigues me, though perhaps not as much as he's supposed to.
Wallace and Veronica, their interaction was as wonderful as ever and I liked Wallace having a back-bone (albeit briefly) about doing Veronica favours.
Keith and Wallace's mother (Alesha?) A little WTF? But then everything is from Veronica's POV, so I suppose it was meant to come as much a shock to us as it was to her?
Was that case Veronica talked about with Meg just a case, or did Duncan take it as a message, or something? There's something going on there.
Also, Veronica giving Mac the computer. Was there something I missed there or was that just a little random bit showing that Bomb Threat Guy (whose name escapes me) was good with computers?
A good solid ep, but a few weird moments.
Hot Dogs:
Wow. Does the Echolls family have some issues? I love them for it though ... well, I love Logan for it anyway. It's very interesting how Logan manages to weasel his way into your fannish heart. At the start of the show I was like, 'wow, is he a jerk' but now, '<3!' Issues though. So many issues.
Aaron was way scary weilding that knife. Nice job Harry Hamlin.
Veronica and Logan: Cute. Compliated. Angsty. Messed Up. Doomed. Needless to say, I'm really liking it. :p
Ducan: I really didn't miss him. He was interesting for that one episode (I forget the name, the one with the therapy sessions Veronica was bugging) and now, eh.
Flashback love!
Oh, yes, liked this needed to get more confusing. Thank you, Weevil. Really. You rock, but still. Confusing.
That scene with the bike. Right up there as one of the best House/Wilson scenes ever. RSL and Hugh's delivery was just so good. 'Can I drive?' '... no.' Also, I love Wilson's indulgent smiles when House was revving over Foreman. The scene at Wilson's car was also a classic. Mmm, OTP.
I'm not a Chase girl, but you had to love the smiles when House almost complimented him (aww, House/Chase) and with the scene on the bike. They're not quite RSL!smiles, but Jesse is an able substitute.
Cameron ... eh. Honestly, if you had just kept away from House and Wilson this ep, you would have been fine, but no.
I'm still a little unsure if Wilson's plotting with Cameron annoyed me. I think his motivation was a little different (he admitted he didn't really care if House was using him to not see his parents, but that he was curious) but I still wish he hadn't done it, and not becuase it was Cameron, but because he knew full well House wouldn't have wanted that. Wilson keeps getting these little scenes with Cameron and it's making Wilson/Cameron thoughts come unbidden. Ugh.
The pacing was a little off. You had a really heavy H/W first half, and then nothing. No real resolution. And I think they just skimmed over House's parents way too fast. It needed some more depth. His mother was so cute though.
As for the case, I quite liked it. It was well done. moving and mostly interesting.
Shallow: I noticed this in the promo, but RSL had one good-looking episode. Not that he has many bad looking ones, but this week. Damn. It may have been the blues he wore at the start that just worked for him. Also, Hugh in the leather jacket. Guh.
Easily my two favourite shows at the moment.

1. I feel almost like a ticket hawker. In my room are 6 tickets to GoF tomorrow, 7 tickets to the Australia vs NZ ODI and 3 tickets to Auckland's Big Day Out.
Yes, Big Day Out. Franz Ferdinand! I'm quite excited because, you know, Franz Ferdinand and I've never been to Auckland before.
It's going to make for a very busy early 2006 though. Big Day Out in Auckland, a friend's wedding in the Nelson area and then probably moving. I haven't moved since I was 5. I've had the same room since I was 7 and I don't chuck things out. I have so much stuff!
2. I am the proud owner of an iPod. I got it while I was in Wellington because well, there was a whole cabenit of them looking all cute and white and semi-reasonably priced! I was powerless! Powerless I tell you. *ahem* Anyway, I have an iPod. 30gig, video capable and I love it to pieces.
I've never really understood the compulsion to name computers, cellphones and the like, but the iPod? It needs a name. I was thinking 'Jimmy' in recognition of House's sarcastic (?) nickname for Wilson, but it's a little close to my brother's name. Hmm. I'll think some more. Any ideas are welcome.
3. Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US!
