Anime, huh?
Jul. 31st, 2005 02:04 pmI decided to tape the OC S2 Finale. I haven't watched in a while (since about 212) but I thought I might as well:
High (melo)drama indeed.
I think they've broken Sandy and Kirsten for me. I don't know quite how they've done it but I was feeling a lot less for them last night than I was supposed to. *sigh* When Seth showed up at the intervention though, gah. It was predicitble but it worked. That group hug at the end of that scene? Didn't work quite so well.
After everything, Seth and Summer are still very cute together and Summer reaching out to Kirsten by trying to get her to eat something at the wedding was a little heart-breaking. Summer <3
Ryan/Marissa: *sighs*
Jimmy/Julie: Quite cute actually. I've always liked Jimmy.
Marissa: Not really as annoying as usual, except at the end.
Ryan: 'All this year I've been trying to be a different person.' Oh, Ryan.<3
Seth could have told Ryan about Marissa being attacked a whole lot better than he did. *winces*
The shooting was way over the top. Without that aspect it may have actually been a pretty good episode but the whole thing felt forced and false. Having Ryan beat up Trey, sure, having Marissa shoot him? After you've already had a shoot-out at the Bait Shop in the same episode? Yeah ... you've passed the drama line into late season E.R territory and really, no one should go there. Ever.
I was just talking to Mum about it too, and Ryan is so going to take the blame for the shooting. It didn't occur to me at the time but now it just seems so obvious.
So, it does seem I still care but not as much as I did.

I haven't regularly read TwoP re-caps for a couple of years (not since Deborah's West Wing ones and Sobell's early CSI ones) and the House ones I've read (bar Sar's first one) were actually kind of disappointing. However, yesterday I discovered Couch Baron's Veronica Mars re-caps and they are actually quite amusing and as other's have said before me, it's nice to have a re-capper that actually likes the show they're re-capping.

I've also furthered my investigation into 'So, what's so good about this anime thing, then?' by renting Cowboy Beebop: The Movie.
I'm not going to rush off and check out the series (yet), but it's certainly entertaining.
Spike is damn cool and Edward is just adorable. Perhaps a little River-esque.
Vincent is just like some fan-art interpretations of Sirius. Mmm.
I must admit Vincent/Electra intrigues me (the ending really packed an emotional punch) and I kind of like the thought of Spike/Electra or Spike/Vincent.
The use of music in this is very effective. It has a really good soundtrack. Not at all what I expected. (Not that I expected the soudtrack to be bad, just different than this). It's really catchy. Especially the final credits song.
In conclusion: I think i might want to find the series. Damn curiosity.
No. I really can't stop picking up new fandoms. I think it's an illness.

Micheal got pole for the Hungarian GP. Wow. I really shouldn't watch tonight though. I have work at 7:30am. Ugh.
Edit: I'm not the biggest Inara fan but Morena Baccarin looks really, really good in that mood icon. Mmm.
