House, Firefly: Trash and Dissatisfaction
Apr. 2nd, 2005 01:19 amThe day started off fine and ended, fine, but at the moment I find myself in a rather extreme state of dissatisfaction with just about everything in my life. I try to do little things to change it but then, I just end right back at that dissatisfied feeling. Vicious cycle.
However, I did catch my first full epsidoe of House tonight:
Hmm. I did enjoy it but not ridiculously so. Not to the point of squeeing anyway, but enough that I will definitely try to watch it again.
Hugh Laurie with an accent is still a little bit weird. It's just a little jarring for someone who is used to his rather nice British accent. I'll get over it no doubt.
House/Wilson, huh? I don't really see it but then, I've watched one episode.
I kept sniggering in my head at Jesse Spencer. I was never a regular watcher of Neighbours *shudder* but he appeared in enough very bad teenage magazines that I know who he is. It's the same reaction I have to seeing all the former Shortland Street stars in LotR.
The ep was definitely well handled and House was quite a bastard, but never completely so, which I suppose is the point. Him doing the autopsy on the baby definitely tugged on the heart-strings.
Also some brief thoughts on
So, Jayne dobbing them in on Ariel was dealt with. We'll just forget all the other mentions I made about it not being dealt with before. Damn out-of-narrative-order-playing FOX. Anyway, that was very ... grown up of Simon. I was expecting him to do something, but no, not so much. Unless, there is something coming I don't know about yet. It seemed just a little too simple. However, River's ' I can kill you with my brain.' Best. Line. Ever. And you know, I don't think she's lying either.
All in all, a solid ep. Not enough Simon but still very enjoyable.

Some random musings:
- I keep watching Medical Investigation, even though it's not that great, because I seem to have a small crush on Christopher Gorham that won't die.
- I recently purchased Formerly Known as the Justice League and it was brilliant. Much love.
- L&P = Tip Top Lemonade Popsicles. They're exactly (perhaps, just very, very close to) the same flavour. I had L&P for the first time in ages today and I instantly realised it. It is also a very nostalgic taste for me for some reason. It brings back school sports days where they used to buy us a ice-block each.
