So my trepidation? Somewhat justified.

I mean to be honest, I was fine with the episode up until the last 15 minutes or so. I mean, I wasn't loving it, but it wasn't that much crazier than your average H50 episode, and hey look, Fryer's gone, yay. (Could have done without that whole 'that was for Fryer' line from Steve - I mean, he was responsible for that whole stupid Kono plotline at the start of the season and he made me shudder, but I admit my distaste might have something to do with Tom Sizemore. Ugh).

There was also some okay Steve and Danny moments, and Steve learnt his lesson and called. <3

And the shooting was badass. I mean, Steve is fucking crazy, but it was badass.

So, you know, okay. But what the fuck was the last 15 minutes?

I'm not really talking about Steve - because of course he left, and of course his Mom was alive, fandom called that ages ago, and holy shit that is an awful, awful thing to do to your kid. All of Steve's parental figures have been lying to him and Mary for like twenty years. He needs all the hugs, and his pissiness with Joe is definitely going to continue. Oh, you're going to wait outside are you, Joe? Well that might be best as Steve is probably going to want to punch you in the face. I still think the Shelburne plot is bad, but you know, I love Steve and have all the Steve feelings.

But um, Chin, Malia and Kono? This was all because Chin was a dirty cop? Which was resolved a season ago? And which Baldwin-dude didn't really mention (that I can remember) when he was around at the start of the season. I get him being angry at Kono but the Chin thing was waaay out of left-field and just way too much happened in the last 15 minutes it was all OMG must have all the cliff-hangers! I mean, I hope Chin rescues them (well I hope Kono rescues herself tbh but don't know how likely that is) and gets Baldwin-dude, I really like Chin, but it just all seemed so WTF. Ww need manufactured drama!

And Danny. Danny's plotlines in finales always annoy me because they always feel like they're tacked on for something for him to do. They were always going to do the Stan-gets-a-new-job plotline at some point, but right now? I mean, the scene between him and Gracie was cute, and I think it's interesting he doesn't want to leave Hawaii, but now? With no real lead-in? It just felt tacked-on. Let's hope they resolve this one better than last season's 'going to Jersey because Rachel is having my baby' plotline.

And I should have mentioned Max. Poor dude - and Kamekona brought him Star Trek balloons! That was a nice touch.

Ridiculous show is ridiculous, Alex and Grace are very pretty, Steve and Danny are very married, Chin and Kono are badass.
