Oh H50, I talk about another fandom and you give me this:

This episode might be my favourite of the season. Definitely in the top 3. The case was interesting enough (it did drag a little bit in the middle - and does Liberia really have an issue with conflict diamonds?) but there was *so much* adorable character stuff as well.

The Surfing Scene of Extreme Fan-Service! Steve AND Danny half-naked, surfing, and arguing. What else do you need?

I was so happy to see Mary back as well. Taryn was great and her new hair is so cute. Her and Steve were super adorable together. Many hugs, many smiles, although Steve saying to Danny that he and Mary are closer than Danny and Matt was a low blow and uh ... canonically not true, unless he's talking to Mary a lot more than we think.

"We're kind-of surf buddies?" "Yeah. You feeling sensitive right now?" "Little bit." - MARRIED. I love how Mary had no question they'd be together, and Danny totally looked like he was greeting a sister-in-law. <3

"The black helicopters are real." - loved that little moment.

Steve and the cake! He was so touched when he saw they got him a cake, and I am totally taking that reference to buttercream being his favourite as proof that Steve has a secret sweet-tooth.

I liked how they used Ed Asner's character too and the archive footage to the older ep. That was pretty cool.

One downside: Fryer. Ugh. Just go away.

In conclusion:

So pretty.

I'm going to miss Alex the next few weeks. Seeing the scene pictures from the crossover ep with NCIS:LA is making me a little sad because he was supposed to be in it. Here's hoping he's doing better.

Amusingly I was listening to The Slash Report's podcast on the H50 premiere just today. It brought back my start of season rage a little. *shakes fist* It makes a lot of fair points and yet ... I can't give it up, and after tonight's ep I'm not going to for a while longer.

I actually spent quite a lot of today listening to many episodes of the Slash Report podcast (thanks [personal profile] labellementeuse for reminding me it exists) which made for an interesting work-day. I just needed to work though processing a series of rather boring and repetitive corrections and it definitely helped.

More sleep may have helped too tbh. ;) But as I really should be writing a cover letter, I won't be sleeping quite yet tonight.

Cover-letters are the worst btw.
